What if we beat Atlanta Falcons?

The Falcons simply aren't a good football team. Their standings do not reflect their quality imo. Personally I think we HAVE to beat the Falcons if we want to claim being anything close to a play off contender.
They pretty good offensively. I think you sleep on them.

Given the current standings in the NFC then losing this game is pretty much the end of the season.

This is a situation in which everyone gets blame. The coaching staff for the poor play design. WRs for failing to get separation. The offensive line for not providing trustworthy pass protection. The running game for not keeping defenses honest. The defense for being universally terrible. And, of course, for Prescott forcing dangerous passes.

OK Coaches, FIX it.

This takes a team effort and given all the factors working against the passing attack, the Cowboys are getting a very predictable result.

Getting to 4-4 on the season would keep our playoff hopes alive. Can we beat Atlanta? Yes. Will we? Only if this organization stops being stupid and starts playing real football!! This season is starting to look like a lost cause and I’m as pissed as the next guy, but a win over Atlanta would at least make things interesting and we could end up playing meaningful football on Thanksgiving. Depends on you Cowboys! Step up before it’s too late!!
that would suck

Run defense against Bijan Robinson = beat down. Cousin may not need to throw a single pass. This has to be the worst DC defense I have seen in quite a while. Help me out here forum, when was the last time we have seen DC defense this bad?
We know the falcons will try to run 80% of the time…. And we will have no answer for it just like all our other games we played

Honestly just but the about to retire and rookies out there for the rest of this year to see if any are worth keeping. Go for draft picks and tank.

Games like this are the real test of who we are. Realistically, based on our offseason, no one should have been expecting us to beat Baltimore, Detroit and San Francisco. We may have edged Detroit last season, but the Lions made moves, so it was clear going into the season that we were behind those teams.

Atlanta is more like New Orleans, one of those teams that we should be expected to at least be on equal footing with. Of course, we got curb-stomped by the Saints, so it's hard to say we'll even be competitive in this one.
Who we are is disorganized, weak flailing team. No test needed.

The Falcons are no powerhouse. It will be a good game. I think the Cowboys win. I just don’t equate a victory over the Falcons as indication the Cowboys are a playoff team.
It wasn't very good watching it in person. I've been saying the same thing since the injury bug hit us: We just aren't fielding a good team right now. I know everyone wants to point a finger at a player or a position, but we simply have too many of our best players either out or playing injured. That doesn't work in the NFL. As I noted in the post you responded to, we've already opened as underdogs twice as many games this season as all of last season, and I think it will end up being 3x-4x by the time the season is over. The point of mentioning that is that fully healthy and except for the RB position, we have very much the same personnel as last year. If Micah and company were on the field for the D and our WR/TE corps wasn't banged up, we'd be far more competitive. I know there will be Zimmer v. Quinn comparisons, and they may be justified, but a new D scheme - if it's going to work - takes a few games for the players to perform viscerally, but the D never got that chance before the injuries.

Again, we just don't have a very good team at the moment. I hate it as much as anyone, but I'm not going to complain about it, as it happens to teams in the NFL every year, and it looks like this year is our turn.
