What if we had our first rounder?

Say we sign Roy and none of the other roster moves weve made change.

Some may say get Percy Harvin. Personally, Id cross my fingers on Andre Smith.

If he didnt fall Id trade down into the 2nd, pick up a 3rd in the process. And through some more dealing, end up w/ something like 5 2nd rounders.

Kenny Britt, Duke Robinson, Sean Smith, Beckwith, and Connor Barwin. Championship

Then Dallas would struggle to extend the contract of Demarcus Ware. That's why Jerrry Jones went after Roy Williams last year and did not wait until this year; it allowed him to get Williams cheaper and also move some of his salalry onto last year's books. Having dome that, Dallas cleared enough cap room, with an uncapped year looming, to be able to solely focus on the Ware contract without worrying about breaking the bank on any draft picks.

That's too many guys to fly on Jerry's jet for a PC in Dallas, which would probably lead to a plane crash, setting our franchise back years. That's why you'd never be a GM. This is not Madden because it doesn't have planes.

5 second rounders???

W/O the trade, We'd have a 1st, 2nd, two 3rds, two 4ths, 3 5ths, Trading out of the first leaves you w/ two 2nds, three 3rds, two 4ths, and 3 5ths. Not counting compensatory picks and 7ths b/c they dont hold much value thats enough ammo.

No ones worried about losing Ware. There are so many ways to clear room for his 7 year $ 101 million deal.

how were we going to get him for free? Detroit would have just franchise tagged him had they not traded him last yr

Let's face it, w/o that trade for Roy we probably wouldn't have made the playoffs in 2008. ...oh wait.

Hindsight's 20/20. I think it's a "wait and see" situation. If Roy underachieves in Dallas it will be the worst trade ever. If he lives up to the hype, Jerry will have been seen as making the right choice. Who knows for now...

:laugh2: Too true.

But, I'll play. If Jerry still had the first, Maualuga would be a Cowboy. If not available, then one of the stud pass rushers: Connor Barwin, Clay Matthews, Michael Johnson

the post-2008 season will be a challenge for everybody in the organization. Offense, defense and special teams all need pretty big improvement. And I think Jerry really is in the hot seat now. He's amassed a lot of talent but still has a few holes to fill. if he does his job, it makes Garrett's/Wade's jobs a bit easier and it just trickles down from there (to start anyway). The players still have to perform despite what jerry does/doesn't do during the off-season.

Why do people start threads like this? What if Roger Staubach was twent seven years old. Wat if you could resurect Harvey Martin?
