I'm just shooting in the dark with this... But.... Say Barber IS out for the next 2 games.

Felix avg's 5.5 a carry, 270 yrd, and 4 td's, and Choice has something like 4.9 avg, 200 yds, and 2td's, and we look like a better team having Felix start and Tashard complimenting... What do we do if Barber comes back and kinda has the same effect that Lt does instead of Sproles for the chargers? I think it's very possible, do we trade him or not?

I would love to have that problem.

But we would trade Choice in that scenario.

Hell No we don't trade him!

Did you not watch the game the other night????

What's funny, and I havn't heard it said in this forum all week is how good Barber played the other night. He was the star of the show!

If they do do that....it will give us the most feared rushing attack in the game when he returns.

What effect is that? The team loves Barber and he did well on Sunday night.

I just heard Calvin Watkins on the local ESPN affiliate. He is such a poor reporter or whatever he is. He was talking about Felix Jones being the big play guy in Dallas. That part is true. He then said that if it had been Felix running the ball and not Barber on the play where Barber got hurt that Felix would have scored. I am not sure what point he was trying to make because it was obvious that Barber was going to score on that play had he not strained his quad. Barber had a great game. Felix almost had a great game if he had not fumbled the kick off.

Dallas needs all three running backs and I am glad they have a problem trying to get them all enough touches. Those are the kinds of problems I like on my team. It is much better than figuring out how to limit the touches for Hambrick, Cason and Murrell.

Why does saying Felix would have scored make him a poor reporter?

I think he was merely offering what a dynamic, game-breaking player Felix is. Barber likely would have scored, but if Felix gets through a hole like that you're saying "TD," whereas if Barber gets through the hole you're saying "Go, Marion, go!"

Hopefully this will be the week Felix finally gets more than 10 offensive touches in a game (and catches more than one pass).

But if he averages only 4 yards a carry or less, I'm sure we'll hear how he can't handle that many touches.

For some reason, this was hilarious.

With that said, not that I don't like what Barber brings to the table but...

Honestly, I thought we should have traded Barber in the off-season once we saw what we had with Choice. We could have used one of the multitude of draft picks on another Barber/Choice-like player and used him in the Choice role this year.

But that would have been unpopular and a lil more risky than you would like considering we just released TO and we have yet to see how that will pan out.

Trade him for Coakley

The only way I trade Barber:

We give up:
1) Barber,
2) team X has to take Barbie,
3) our 3rd, 5th, and 7th round 2010 picks
4) our 3rd pick in 2011

In return, we get, from team X:

1) Two third string linebackers
2) A back up CB
3) A practice squad RB
4) A decent DE
5) Team X's 1st, 2nd, and 6th round picks in 2010
6) Team X's 1st and 2nd in 2011
7) Team X's and 2nd and 3rd in 2012
8) and Team X's 1st rounder in 2013

I would do that.

I would probably throw Felix in too just so Barber would not be lonely in his new home.

Barber is in his prime and has been our best player this year on offense. We're keeping him no matter what happens while he is out.

The thing is, we need 3 good backs. Why do we need to trade a RB?

Barber isn't LT. LT looks done. Barbarian looked as good as ever and what he brings to the table are more than just raw speed or power. He is highly respected for a reason by these athletes man.
We aren't dumping or trading MBIII, OR Felix. Choice will be invaluable Monday night but when the Barbarian returns he's the man.

No way would we trade Barber. You hold onto all 3 backs.

I seriously doubt any team is going to make a trade offer good enough to justify trading Barber. RBs are too easy to find for any team to cough up a #1 for him, and he's worth more to the team than anything lower than that.
