Even if Charlton turns out to be everything we hope he is, it doesn't "solve" the line. We need all the help we can get in the front 7. Right now, we have a lot of "meh" and a couple of guys who've shown potential. If our pick in the 2nd round comes up, and there's a guy who, in the scouts' evaluation, is head and shoulders above other available players, I'd take him, regardless of position.
I can only speak in general philosophical terms, because in all honesty, I don't know these players and I'd be talking out of my backside if I tried to say player X is preferable to player Y. But I will say I think front 7 positions are more important and harder to fill with good talent. The secondary is dependent on them. Good talent in the front 7 can make solid talent in the secondary seem a lot better, but the reverse is not true. So I'm hoping that the best player(s) available at 60 are something other than CBs.
