OK I'll Play
1 What if Jimma had stay on as HC?
It has been my long standing opinion Dallas would have still lost the 1994 NFC Championship game. Injuries, more than anything else did that team in. Were they a better team than the 9ers? I think so. But history will always tell a different story.
I don't believe Steve Young would have been a shoe-in for the Hall without the ring.
Deion would still come to play after '94 and Jimmy would have put his foot down about baseball.
Dallas would have won in '95. But I believe the team would have exploded even more than just Irvin in '96 because by that time Jimmy's welcome would have been worn out with the team.
2 What if Brandt/Schram had not negotiated the deal with Seattle for a kid named Dorsett?
Dallas is not facing Denver in 1977 for all the marbles.
3 What if Jerra Jones had bought the 'Boys franchise 5 years earlier?
If he brought in Jimmy, then we would never have gotten Walker, and the 90's would have been a dream.
If he kept Landry, and the team continued losing ground as it did, Jerry would have fired Tom Landry and we might have enjoyed Barry Switzer a lot 'sooner.'
4 What if Parcells had matured emotionally and not come to Dallas with a need to manipulate players?
I have seen it written that the game has passed this guy by, or that guy. I surely felt Landry had seen it all, but wasn't as effective. And to some degree thought the game had passed him by.
I think what Parcells did in his first year was real coaching. From then on it was the Bill Parcells sideshow as distracting as anything T.O. could bring.
I don't believe a mindset for Parcells would have changed much. Unless he quit a year earlier and Payton was the head coach.
5 What if Jimma had taken over 5 years earlier?
He would have been severely hamstrung by not knowing the college players as he did when he left Miami. He would not have had the coaching infrastructure he assembled because those guys would not have been with him at Miami. No Norv, which says alot.
I don't believe he would have had the Walker trade, as mentoned above, which would have put him on the map.
No Emmitt. No Troy. And maybe no Irvin.
Questionable about Super Bowls before burnout.
And he would be trying to make hay while the Eagles were assembling maybe the best defensive line I have ever seen with White, Brown, Golic, and Simmons. Jimbo could pick talent, but without the trade, possibly none of the triplets, and the Eagles eating people in the NFC alive with that pass rush, he would have been a dissapoinment.
6 What if Billy Cannon had flourished as we all thought?
I was disappointed in how his career ended. But have no opinion here.
7 What if Jerra had intervened and gotten Mandarich before Aikman?
No Super Bowls. The Jethro Jones label would have been harder to lose. Jimmy would have quit sooner than later.
8 What if Jackie, beloved Jackie Smith, had caught the ball?
We would have still lost. The Steelers were the better team.
9 If that sickening last second throw by a smirking Montana had somehow tippled upward and out of reach?
Dallas would have won. Then they would have faced a pretty good Bengal team.
My belief Danny White was the shining example of the Peter Principle causes me to think Dallas would have lost to the Bengals.
The 9ers would still have won several Super Bowls if they lost that game.
10 What if Chan and Campo had never happened after the last Super Bowl
It would have been somebody else. Maybe a guy like Vermiel. We still would have been in a death spiral because of the attitudes of some of the players, the press, the Dallas law, and slut dogs who wanted to extort money from high profile millionares who were accessable and horny.
