What is Andy Reid doing?

He's got a 41 point lead and he still has McNabb, Owens & Westbrook in the game. He must think the NFL added a margin of victory component in deciding homefield advantage.

I think he's trying to get McNabb the record for TD passes in a game.

I'd be more concerned with an upset Packer nailing McNabb and making Detmer my starting qb.

same thing he did when they played us monday night. Maybe teams are forgetting the rule that rubbing it in will come back to haunt you

All these coaches are trying to get their players stats for the records. That's why Peyton Manning plays late into games during their blowouts.

Rubbing it in is a cheap shot tactic that has been prefected in a cheap shot city like Philly. Just ask buddy Ryan.

If McNabb is hurt, Blake would most likely become our starting quarterback. Detmer is second on the depth chart because he holds.

He played his starters three quarters, not many teams bench their starters before that.

I am pretty sure Davey didn't start playing in the New England game until the fourth quarter, and they wern't playing the "Great Brett Favre".

The reason why we were passing is because we were incapable of running it, with our fourth string guard and backup center starting at the guard positions.

He's a fat pig. Doesn't matter because even if the make it to the Super Bowl, they ain't winning.

Don't forget, stayin in late in the game and running up the score increases the chance of injury. All it takes is for an injury to McNabb or Owens and their season is toast.

andy is just warming up for his next job as a college coach. he's simulating BCS jockeying. always the bridesmaid - never the bride.

How often was Aikman ever pulled in a blowout?

Probably not a relevant question because even in our super bowl games winning by two td's was considered a blowout...we never had the killer mentality that the 49ers had.

We weren't ever the Don Coryell wide-open passing attack team.

We'd get up by 2-3 TDs then start taking 40 seconds for every play, running Emmitt, moving the chains, milking the clock. If we started doing that after the second half kickoff, so much the better.

I was told that this was overheard while andy talked to MCNabb and TO on the sidelines....

" Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties,
you want me to wear that catsuit. You need me need me to wear that catsuit."

So they leave the starters in because of andy's cat suit bet...just another reason to wonder about T.O. if he wants to see andy wearing spandex.

Andy did not leave his starters in late

McNabb only played ONE series in the fourth quarter. On that drive, they only passed TWICE.

The announcers (who must have brainwashed everyone) were calling for the starters to be benched before the 3rd quarter was even halfway over

Tell me this. If you bench all your starters, who plays special teams? If your backups are getting sig refs in the game, plus playing ST, doesn't that over-extend them and leave them open to injury?

If you bench Westbrook and run down the clock, you're giving a 34 year old man significant carries. Wouldn't that make Levens susceptible to injury? At a position where the Eagles lack depth?

The Eagles have been criticized for passing the ball too much and thus "running up the score". They did not score a single TD in the second half. Their last score (a FG) was set up by a 45 yard run by Levens. Were they supposed to kneel down for half of the third quarter and all of the fourth? Wouldn't that be an insult to the Packers?

McNabb, Owens and Westbrook(except as a return man) are not special teams players. They are the three most important players on that team. Sitting them down halfway through the third would have been an OK move. Certainly sitting them the whole 4th quarter would have been a good idea. Fortunately no one was injured and I am glad. I want them a full strenght when they blow it in the playoffs again. :D

No, but if you bench Owens then Greg Lewis is going to get alot more time on the field and he IS a special teamer. Bench Westy and Levens (the only other activated running back) gets excessive touches.

Bench Sheppard, Dawkins, Brown, Trotter, Sim, or anyone else on the defense and their backups are special teamers.

Besides, this is all meaningless. There is nothing wrong with leaving your starters in through the third quarter.

I don't fully understand the gripe here. Reid is the head coach, his winning rate goes far beyond any of the other coaches in Eagle franchise. Having said that, his decision to keep key players on the field is beyond question.

Besides, I didn't hear one Eagle fan complaining about Reid's decision, none of the starters were injured, and the Eagles won the game. Where's the beef (pardon the pun)?

Listen, I'm not sure about the last time your team beat GB, but they have been known to launch serious comebacks with Bret at the Helm. I don't know perhaps Reid wanted to make a statement to the rest of the NFC. But whatever he was thinking, it worked!
