All is not lost assuming the coaching staff is replaced.
I advocated tanking for a few weeks because I think the team is close with a last big infusion of talent.
The 2 most critical positive thing that happened this season among the sea of bad.
These just happen to be the 2 most difficult thing for a team to acquire.
1. DL pressure - that seems to be coming along quite well. Just consolidate our gains by holding on to what we have.
2. QB - Dak played great when zeke is available. so Dak needs a good RB to succeed. That is ok because a good RB can be had in the 2nd, 3rd rounds. So the team no longer needs to be exclusively dependent on zeke. Hopefully zeke gets his fill of easy women in Cabo and comes back satisfied.
Key things to do offseason using FA and draft:
1. OT - with Tsmith questionable, an adequate swing tackle needs to be drafted or signed. I would use FA here.
2. 1-Tech - can be had in FA or draft in the 2nd round or later. I would use FA for a good 1-tech.
3. WR - a WR1 is needed and perhaps the most difficult need - 1st round pick possible here.
4. LBs - at least 1 LB is needed, probably 2. MLBs can be had in FA or draft. Another decent LB can also be added through draft or FA. This is an easier need than a top DE.
5. RB - get a very good RB to backup Zeke in the 2nd or 3rd or 4th round.
To consolidate the DL gains:
1. franchise DLaw for 1-2 years and hope his back is ok long term. He is under our control if we want to franchise. Lets hope Taco improves during offseason.
2. 3Tech - sign Irving while he is still restricted.
