what is most impressive about where this team is right now is this

we won a game against a playoff team that won 12 games last year:

with a new defense that we dont even have all the players for: glover and ellis got manhandled out there...we need fergy and spears to start

linebackers didnt do much...ware out of place...passrushed well but against the run he sucked---james is lost...

bledsoe has a new offense and new players to deal with
most of which didnt have a good preseason

the o line isnt up to snuff yet...rivera's conditioning...pettiti is green

kickoff coverage is bad

ETC.ETC. ETC...NEW PLAYCALLER...things like that...its a new team...



MY POINT IS THIS...with all this happening we still won! now i know without those penalties we would nto have...but without our fumble they wouldnt have scored...get my point...you are what you are...but here is the most important thing about all of this....everything that needs to be fixed CAN BE FIXED AND WILL BE FIXED...in the past we couldnt fix anything..the players we had were the players we had...with all the young guys we have half of those problems with be fixed by week 5 or 6 and if you think we cant beat the 9ers, raiders and skins with the team we have now youa re crazy...at least 3-1 by the eagles game...you guys are going to see alot of better play out of the rookies...wait and see

agreed, I do think there were alot of good things to come out of yesterdays game.

1. this team didn't quit yesterday, last year we would have folded in the 4th when SD went up.
2. The defense bent but didn't break in the 4th especially the last drive,last year we would have lost this game.
3. we won an opening day game
4. our red-zone offense was perfect,when's the last time we can say that

that being said our special teams are horrible,good thing Cortez can tackle. I agree I thought James looked lost, but we cant have everything in game one. I know people will want to discount the win because of Gates and the penalties,but the point is we capitilized on the breaks, and good teams will do that Here's to a good win :toast:

It was just nice to see us play against a solid team and win. We won the game without playing our best game. It's nice to see that the team still has areas were we will get better.

I am feeling like a wild card at least is in the cards now.

The entire NFC north is a joke.
Carolina will be solid but lost Jenkins for the year.
St Louis.....all I can say is wow. Lost to SF!!!!
Arizona was and is still terrible.
Seattle...please.
Minnesota..where's the O
Tampa Bay.....bad o-line...but looked OK.

Playoff teams..imo

Philly (East) I'm not ready to say Dallas will take the East yet.

Glover was there all day- and with the subs he was rested for the 4th when he got his sack and caused SD other problems. This rotation will be something else. Just wait untill both Spears and Ferguson are back in shape.

You wait on the parade if you wanna, I am openly optomistic and very excited and I shall shout it out from the roof top baby, We are on our way back. thats good enough for me now. Knowing that in a year or two we are perennial legit contenders and this year, we could sneek up on some pple and maybe get something accomplished we otherwise shouldn't this year.

They overcame alot of adversity, especially after the 1stqt, and won.

In doing so they won themselves alot of confidence ,which at the very least, is worth two more W's.

They never quit, they played a full 3 1/4 quarters of football. lol

The first drive was 100% Ware. They ran right at him, he did not get contain and he kept anybody else from pursuing because he could not shed his blocker and blocked their angle.
