They just gave Bradford and Chase Daniel giant contracts and now they are rumored to be moving up for Wentz?

I don't buy it.

They are going to give up all that money for QB's and most likely 2 first rounders for another?

This is what I have been saying since the rumors started swirling. I would love it if they did move of just because of how crippling it would be.

Unless they hit on Wentz.

I understand that the NFL is all about the QB or building a great roster from top to bottom. It's hard to do both so I guess they are just selling out on getting a QB.

Could they have been thinking that maybe they could flip Bradford at some point to someone like Denver or even Cleveland as part of a move up?

That their current QBs arent the answer, which would be correct. Also that the team isnt good enough to win it all and they they should this season developing the answer.

Agree in theory but if they knew this, why waste money signing Bradford?

They could have just signed Daniel and then dropped everything to move up for a QB.

It shouldb

It should be a lot more than 2 first rounders to move up from 8 to where they would need to draft Wentz but I get what you mean.

If Wentz completion percentage is really something like 21% in pressure situations like someone was saying, I can't imagine teams are as high on him as the media portrays.

His talent is what matters..

Not some random stat a naysayer found.

What matters is the ability to perform when it counts. Several QBs have had talent, but couldn't put it together on the field at the NFL level. (Ryan Leaf anyone) If you can't perform under pressure, you will suck as an NFL QB.

I have a hard time taking reports that they want to love to the top of the draft seriously. No matter how much you like a prospect, so much of what could make him successful is unknown and out of your control. It's too much to take a gamble like that that could set you back five years if you're wrong.

Maybe they're making noise to see what teams in front of them do. Maybe they're trying to spook us to see if we tip our hand. Who knows? But if they go all in to move up for the quarterback, I'd be ok with that. And then just hope they get RGIII'd.

Maybe it is not a QB that is the target. I could see Philly trying to trade up for Tunsil. Philly needs OL in a bad way. If they think they can't get Tunsil or Stanley, then they might want to move up if the price isn't too much. Philly's OL was old last year and I don't think they added much in FA. I think Peters was injured last year and he is up there in age. An injury to Peters or Lane Johnson would do some serious damage to their hopes.

That's no "random stat".

And Jamarcus Russell had "talent" in spades. That sure didn't make him an NFL quarterback.

I'm not in the least bit saying that Wentz will be a bust, but to ignore everything else because he checks off the "talent" boxes would be stupid too.

I think any deal that the Eagles could make would include Fletcher Cox, arguably their best player. Although I wouldn't want to see them snag one of the top two quarterbacks, I wouldn't mind seeing them weaken their team and get a defensive player like that out of the division either.

I feel like we're really having to search for a flaw though when we pull out random stats.

Bottom line is he is as talented as it gets and his only flaw is his opposition.

Well he won a championship game from behind in the final minutes in 2014.

Championship on the line with time running out.

I wouldn't argue with you and I'd be glad to have him (although Goff is my preference). But when you're making this level of investment, I'm fine with a thorough evaluation. Anything that helps you make the most informed decision and avoid a franchise-killing mistake.
