What is Pollard's potential comp pick?

I’d guess a 5th. He’s not going to get a massive free agent deal. Teams don’t give big money to RBs. He’d probably make the most money by letting Jerry bid against himself.

3rd most likely
We won’t get a 3rd round comp pick for Pollard. There are two 3rd round comps for 2023. The Cardinals will get a 3rd round for losing Christian Kirk for $18.0 million a year and Washington will get a 3rd round comp pick for Brandon Scherff for $16.5 million a year.

Pollard’s projected market value is $9 million a year which would most likely net a 5th round comp pick.

Well a comp for pollard won't be in 2023 but in 2024

It's not just about the price. It's the production too.

Hence why Dallas is only getting a 5th for gregory 14mil AAV

And if pollard would accept 9mil AAV Dallas better sign him yesterday.

I am aware of that but there will be plenty of high profile free agents (like every year) that get big money contracts in 2023. RBs don’t command the premium money anymore. I was using the comp pick salaries this year to give an idea of what price range a 3rd round comp pick will fall in. This year you have quite a few free agent QBs that could get paid big money and drive the amount needed for a comp pick up. Tom Brady, Jimmy G could definitely drive up the comp pick salary.

Production does factor in but not enough to move a salary comp of 5th all the way to a 3rd. Possibly to the 4th if he kills it. At 9 million a year Dallas would have to decide if they want to sink more big money into a RB.

The franchise tag for a rb is 12.2mil. Like I said if 9 mil is his price which it won't, they need to sign him already. I think his price starts at that 12.2 mil

There won't be a comp pick for Pollard, he's a Cowboy.

Imagine wanting to get rid of a Top 5 Pro Bowl RB w/low tread for an unknown and a 5th round comp pick. Coop deal all over again...Dallas, where they don't like Playmakers.

If I’m Dallas or another team, I’m not signing Pollard until he’s healed, passes a physical, and works out for me. I definitely do not think he will have any teams signing him to a fat contract without him passing a physical and working out. Unless that happens prior to free agency and the draft, the market for Pollard will not be what it might have been.

You only get Comp picks if you don't sign free agents.

What do you want? Do you want Dallas to be aggressive in Free Agency ? ( like so many in here call for?)

Or do you want them to not really sign anyone, and get comp picks ?

Can't have both.

Lol… Imagine not learning from your previous mistake of signing a Pro Bowl RB to a second contract. There’s a lot of running backs out there in the draft every year…it wouldn’t be the smartest move.
