What is the most disempowering word in the English language?

this is going right over my head, i have never felt, or been disempowered by a word. i guess thats why i dont understand how the words wish/try/love/honestly etc. are disempowering.

my girlfriend is a comm major and her guess is 'um' because it takes away conviction. after he tells you will you be sure to let us know...so if it ever comes up again i can feel smart lol:laugh2:

The Management Team of our company is doing a retreat soon, and the moderator of it is having us do some exercises leading up to it.

One of them was asking us to answer the question: "What is the most disempowering word in the English language?"

I answered "maybe" and was told that I was "close" but not what he was thinking of.

Any suggestions?
