Yep. He was going to revolutionize the DT position.Wasn't he the DT who "retired" in 96 only to tear his ACL/MCL upon return in camp?
And then the other ACL later?

Williams and Allen were all time greats and value picks. Coaching and talent evaluation matters!During Jimmy Johnson's career here, I dont recall many first rounders on the o-line. Then again, it makes a difference when you have a coach who happens to be great at evaluating talent.
According to who? LOLYep. He was going to revolutionize the DT position.
I think the injuries to both of his shoulders, requiring surgery, along with moving him to the right side may have ruined the potential he briefly showed as a rookie. What is the word with guy?
There’s times I actually forget he’s on the roster. Yet, here we are, he’s entering into his fourth season.
You never read/hear any rumblings about him like “coaching staff really feels Waletzko has turned the corner…Waletzko pushing for playing time…” If this guy could develop into our primary swing tackle I’d count it as a win.
That is going to far. It was just a 5th rounder and it's not his fault he kept getting hurt.Wasted pick
They seemed to like him, for his 1st few years anyway, or his potential (how many times have we heard that one). But he has been too often injured so really never could show to us fans why they like him. What is the word with guy?

Hahaha, wasn't there a meme of Matt Johnson laying in a body cast? He's our 2020's Matt Johnson.
Some of you may remember the great Leon Lett. A defensive tackle drafted in the 7th round. A big part of that great defense of the 90s.Jimmy was talking about the importance of stopping the run during a training camp interview. Like a year later they drafted him.And of course the great wall meaning the o-line.Williams and Allen were all time greats and value picks. Coaching and talent evaluation matters!
He is strong. 28 bench pressesI think the injuries to both of his shoulders, requiring surgery, along with moving him to the right side may have ruined the potential he briefly showed as a rookie.
Transitioning sides for a tackle can be difficult since you've got to do so much the opposite of how you learned it. Waletzko really struggled when the coaches decided to have him work at right tackle a couple of years ago. He did better with it last year but still did not have a natural feel for it.
Now, I don't know how much those shoulder surgeries may have robbed him of any skill he had. Frankly, I think we need to move him back to left tackle and just let him compete there, but it's probably too late for that at this point. I will be surprised if he makes the team.
That was the chatter… who the heck knows why.According to who? LOL
Richards is a better player so he’s kinda buried on depth chart. I don’t see any future for him but he may stick as depth another yearHe was a 5th rounder who is still in the roster heading into year 4. Thats not bad value for the pick
How many successful 6'8 tackles are in the league? Just curious. What is the word with guy?

Yeah most of us forget he’s even on the roster lol.Who was hyping him? I dont recall anyone ever declaring him a potential starter or anything like that
I can't see how he wouldn't be.What is the word with Matt Waletzko?
Hopefully the word is: "Cut"
always hurt, time to move onWhat is the word with guy?
