What is wrong with starting over? (And I don't mean rebuilding)

Me dear lads and assorted men on the run from the constabulary:

When we last met I was on the ropes, suffering for me team, bobbing, weaving in that manly street fighting stance I have and asking you WHAT IS WRONG WITH TANKING?

Today I pose to you, me beloved louts, this question:
WHAT IS WRONG WITH STARTING OVER?

Men, I allow you to keep 3 Cowboys on Offence.
I allow you to keep 3 men on Defence (That's easy)

On offence I would keep CD, Pollard and Gilbert. (I have me reasons, borne of wisdom, a beautiful mind and unrelenting charisma @Corso would vouch for that.
For me, its Diggs, LVE and DLaw on Defence.
I am curious what you blokes would do.
Forget contracts and the rest of the legal and logistical niceties.
Consider age, salary, fragility and declining production.
This is not rebuilding, it is extreme change.
Pick 3 players you'd pick to retain on each side of the ball.

God's speed, and if it is too difficult for you to pick your pets, go to a different thread about how we miss the old brass game band and Jerry's yacht.

Offense
Pollard, Lamb, Schultz
This is a young core of quick, spry guys that you can build your offense around a RB, deep threat, and TE in the flats.

Defense
Diggs, Lee, Smith
This was much harder for me, I like Diggs... a lot. I think he will grow into a real talent. I wish he had the opportunity to learn as a rookie while watching real pros play in front of him but unfortunately he got drafted by the Cowboys who don’t care about the DB group. Lee you keep and pray he doesn’t get hurt because he is worth his weight in gold as a leader. He is the only true leader left on this team that I see and he’s not even the best we’ve had but he’s the we’ve got so he’s on my list. And my last spot went literally to a random pick, could have pass rush, could have been run block but I went with Aldon Smith he think he can grow the most. After all he’s been away the longest so theoretically there is still more to come back...

There’s my two cents. ;)

O - Gilbert, Schultz, Lamb  - notice is is NOT Listed. Let them both go to Cabo and stay there.
D - Bill Bates, Randy White, Harvey Martin :D

offense- Dak, CD, Martin

Defense no one j/k
Diggs, Dlaw, LVE

Gimme I don't think we've engaged since the Romo battles we used to have.

I agree with your premise but here's the absolute reason why it won't work.

We are a franchise that defines ourselves by our past while having no vision of the future. It's as simple as that.

There's no surprise in any of this. We all know where it starts, continues and unfortunately will never end. We are like a rudderless ship who finds calm waters once in a while and we can stay afloat but when we hit a storm we sink right to the bottom which is where we find ourselves now.

I've enjoyed 8 Super Bowl runs in my life and it's been an awesome ride but I have resigned myself to the fact there's a real possibility I will never see another one.

The sad thing is all I need to get myself through is a little hope but I don't even have that anymore.

Dak, CD, La'el Collins(3 years younger than Martin)
Diggs, DLAW, Gallimore(yes after 1 decent game.... pickings are slim on defense)

If you don't keep Dak just quit the exercise altogether.
Minus Dak this team is the New York Jets.

Here we go with this exactly right line of thinking, good job you see with clarity.
May your thoughts transcend into Jerrys REM state.
