What it will take for Bledsoe to get benched

Here is what I believe.
Bledsoe will get benched under the following circumstances:

1. Two consecutive losses where he throws multiple picks and we lose. Yes I think a loss this week to the Texans combined with a poor Bledsoe performance and Romo will become the starter. If Bledsoe has a good game this week, he will probably need two consecutive bad games before he is benched.

OR

2. Half-way through the season, we are below .500.

OR

3. Bledsoe is injured.

or

4. Parcells follows the yellow brick road to see great and powerful Oz and gets some brains

The old saying always goes, "The most popular guy on the team is the backup QB."

- Mike G.

and that old saying never comes up if your starter is any good

it does however come up when you start the likes of Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf ,Chad Hutchinson and Drew Bledsoe 2006

Then maybe you should focus more on the comprehension part of reading and comprehension.

I don't think anywhere in my post I said "we've got Brady sitting on the bench". The point of my post was that WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE HAVE IN ROMO YET, but we DO KNOW what we have in Bledsoe. And, quite frankly, unless we play Houston, the Skins, and the Titans every week then we can expect to see much of the same. Unfortunately, our schedule gets TOUGHER after next weeks game not easier.

Hope that helps with your comprehension deficiency there, sport.

I find it funny that when anyone challenges someone's logic, said challengee always gets in a huff and says, "well, uhhhh, maybe you should learn to read... yeah, so there..."

Let's see, you drew the parallels that Bledsoe was starting at one time in New England, backed up by someone that was an relatively unheralded prospect coming out of college. Also said backup had never taken a snap in an NFL regular season game, so no one knew what the backup would provide.

And now you point out that Bledsoe is starting in Dallas with a parallel scenario. We won't know anything about Romo "until we know," just like Brady. Romo is more mobile than Bledsoe, just like Brady was. Romo's also more "apt to make a play," just like Brady was.

Oh but right you threw in that disclaimer... "I'm not saying Romo is Brady."

Well you may not be saying it per se, but you are definitely implying it. Don't insult our intelligence by saying that you're not saying it, and think that you can get away with it. It's elementary to recognize that it is what you were implying.

Comprehend THAT.

PS, you could also draw the parallels that Romo is in the same scenario as Henson, Hutchinson, etc. etc. were, but you didn't choose to make that implication did you? I bet if you did you wouldn't throw in a disclaimer that "I'm not saying Romo is Henson."

That last quote is very true, and I'm with ya on a lot of points, bro. But with THIS personel and THIS offensive line, Bledsoe's not the guy. With Seattle's, or Kansas City's line of last year Bledsoe would be a monster. But that's NOT what we have. Hell, if Bledsoe had the line that Aikman had in the 90's, you could make a strong arguement that Bledsoe himself might have three rings. But, it's not happening here. Not with this personel.

:star:

I dont know what games you are watching, but Bledsoe just isnt throwing well this yr...protection or no protection

he threw the ball very well last yr, but this yr he isnt...maybe its because he is urt or maybe its because he just doesnt have it anymore, but he stinks this yr

why?

it's very easy to draft at top QB and we can give up many picks to achieve this.

it's not like we're hurting in any position (as we were pre-Tuna).

I don't think Jerry Jones will drop draft picks again after the Joey Galloway mess.

If Romo is not the answer (and we will not know that anytime soon), and Parcells retires (which means Bledsoe will leave) then we are toast.

if Bledsoe continues to play we are screwed anyhow so we might as well let Romo play to see what we have in him even if he struggles

not a good example.

swapping #1s for an overrated WR (to compliment an aging Troy) is alot different than trading up for a young franchise QB.

not saying it's needed or going to happen but it's very possible.

the "toast" talk is really just a rationalization to hate Tuna.

I don't hate tuna per se. I think he's done a great job rebuilding almost every postion except QB and OL.

Right now, I just don't see Jerry trading away two or more picks to move up for a QB. But Jerry is a maverick, so anything is possible.

Bledsoe is on pace for 28 interceptions and 12 fumbles. The only bus he should be driving is the short bus.

Here is Parcells dilema

He knows what he has in Bledsoe, if he can control his mistakes and keep a shot leesh, with this defense and offense weapons, he can lead this team to playoffs. Bledsoe is not Brady/Payton/Aikman but he is not Carter/Henson/Hutchinson either.

Romo is a big unknown right now. Would he take a gamble this early in the season on him? Remember, Romo might make plenty of mistakes too early in his career? what then if the Gamble didn't work? he can't go back to Bledsoe as he already indicated to his team, he is not good. The team would have lost confidense in him

In reality I don't think we will see Romo anytime soon unless we are eliminated from playoffs. Bledsoe will win one and lose one and when we are in the second half of the season fighting for playoffs, that would be the worst time to start Romo

BTW, I have completely given up on Bledsoe, I used to give him the benefit of doubt but after seeing the Jax/Philly games I just can't understand how he can just stand ther day dreaming forever holding on to the football
