What kind of hand injury takes a CB out for the game?

He has a broken bone and may need surgery. Garrett said he should be back soon though.

Good news. Dr. CHao has issued his diagnosis. Broken bone in hand, should be back soon.

LOL. I wonder if he saw the guy playing MLB for us that he doubted would ever play again.

They are hypothesizing he has a broken bone in his hand.

Seriously, plenty of CBs have played with a fractured hand or dislocated finger. I suppose it's something much more serious, or he's just a wuss.

Seriously?
If he simply has intractable pain, he can't play.
Do we really need to question the desire or determination of these guys?

Any fracture in the hand or wrist needs to be evaluated properly. You want to minimize the damage not create issues that are highly problematic even chronic. Say he has a navicular fracture. It might be minimal and non-displaced. You fail to recognize that injury and it fractures into two pieces you have a huge problem.

He can play in a soft cast even one covering a hard one. Might take a few weeks but that's better than big surgery and out for the year. Best let a hand surgeon take care of it and avoid jumping to conclusions.
