Jerry has no choice but to be conservative. The roster is completely handicapped by the atrocious contract he gave an average QB. And the only way to fix it short term is extend the same average QB.

We really need to take the lumps for a couple years and move on from Dak or there really is no hope for the foreseeable future.

I see them doing the following:

1. Patting themselves on the back for a second consecutive 12-5 season. “We are soooo close” narrative inbound.

2. Scapegoating the hell out of KM’s offensive system. “MM is the greatest OC and will develop Dak to the next level” narrative inbound.

3. Bargain bin FA shopping. “We are up against the cap” excuses narrative inbound. Oh yah, and they will also drop the “we are confident the 2nd and 3rd year players will take huge steps forward in development for us” narrative.

4. We will focus on the draft and actually do well. We will have some decent comp picks and I see us adding some quality rookies on both sides of the ball.

5. “We are in the best shape of our lives” and “we are hungrier than ever for a super bowl” narratives inbound as well.

Gonna be awesome! Cowboys!!
This is probably scary accurate.

I expect they will have an offseason that will start by driving people crazy. For starters they need cap space and the 3 best ways to do that are to get Zeke to a 6m pay cut (or cut him to save 5m), restructure Dak's 31m salary and create up to 25m that way, and restructure DLaw and create 10-12m in cap space that way. They cannot cut Gallup until next offseason but that will probably happen and there are some other cuts to make a little money but it is unclear if those are beneficial to do.

This year I actually want to see a conservative off-season. Aggressive means they've restructured Dak in order to create cap space. I'd rather have no money to spend in 2023 in order to be in a position to cut ties with this albatross in 2024.

Unfortunately these clowns are likely to restructure Dak in order to free up cap space they never use it. Worst of both worlds.

The team is over the cap

Lamb , Parsons, and Diggs have extensions that are needed

There isn’t a chance in hell this team signs any big outside contracts

As long as extending #4's contract is the first order of business then everything else will take care of itself.

Literally.

They will be aggressive in signing our own. Having said that maybe a mid tier FA like the deal Reddick got from Philly would be awesome for a change.

GB when Mike was there always drafted WR’s and they seemed to always flourish. But we need a vet IMO.

Edit……just looked at the WR FA class and it sucks this year……:(

After viewing many breakdowns of the SF game the two problems were Prescott and the schemes Dallas was using on offense.

You may not need to make wholesale changes. Moore is now gone and hopefully Prescott will do a better job of seeing the field.

I think you try to keep the core together, add a couple of new weapons on offense, and have Quinn have his best year with the defense.

Dallas isn't as far off as most believe.
