I just downloaded Rosetta Stone for my computer and it comes with 30+ languages. Any recommendations on an easy language to learn? I'm contemplating between Italian and French.

How long did it take you learn?

I took Spanish for a year in High School and then I worked as a server/bartender for a number of years, which allowed me to practice with some of my co-workers (who would in turn speak English to me for practice.)

I can't say that I could carry on a complicated conversation, but I can definitely speak/understand casually.

I speak German. The spelling is easy. The grammar is hard at first, but becomes easier with time.

A little French and some Mandarin. I used to be able to read and write French well but I've lost it. My Mandarin is getting better. Maybe in another year.

I think Spanish would be the easiest and most beneficial to learn depending on where you live.

I know Spanish and would love to learn French.
