What makes you so sure TO can still be a dominant WR....

Honestly, other than Michael Jordan, how many pro athletes have gone away from the game for a year or more, come back and played as good or better as when they left? I'm not saying he cant, but he might be out of shape, lost some ability (he is almost 33), etc.

I'm one of the biggest Anti-TO people on the board, but even I don't doubt his physical talent.

It's all the other things that I KNOW will diminish the football team as a whole.

Plus, he's 32 and has had a serious injury recently (thanks to Roy).

Keyshawn did the same thing and Glenn too. The guy is one amazing athlete, a freak. He will be fine barring a major injury.

He only missed the 2nd half of the season last year!!! I seriously doubt his skills have diminished. Also he is a gym rat so I doubt he's out of shape.

But given the fact he's almost 33, I definitely would be a little apprehensive in signing him to a multiyear deal, especially since he likely only has 2 or 3 good seasons left. A 3 year deal that's incentive laden is likely the best route to go!

Ego. Don't underestimate it. The guy is willing to put in the work. He has a ton of God-given talent. But beyond all of these things, he won't accept not being great.

Owens is a jerk. but he is also the hardest working WR in the game. I doubt the short amount of time off affects his game.

A guy misses a half of a season, and not due to injury, and you think that he is going to come back as trash?

Oh, brother!!!

I seem to recall him being out a couple weeks because of an INJURY in 2004/2005 then coming back for the SB with screws in his ankle and getting something like 10 receptions and like 120 yards or something...what makes you think he won't be as good when he has been able to work out and stay healthy?

TO was on pace to pass stats from 2004 in 2005.

The info below is based on ONLY 7 games in 2005.

2004 - 1,200 Yards
2005 - T.O. was still on pace for 1,500 yards last year(7 games=763 yards)

2004 - 14 TD's
2005 - T.O. (7 games=6 TD's)

2004 - 77 Receptions
2005 - T.O. was on pace for over 100 receptions having 47 already.

2004 - 51 First Downs
2005 - T.O. had 43 First Downs in 2005 in just 7 games, on pace for over 80.

2004 - 20 receptions for 20+ yards
2005 - T.O. had 10 receptions for 20+ yards

2004 - 9 receptions for 40+ yards
2005 - T.O. had 4 receptions for 40+ yards

2004 - 1 Long for 59 yards
2005 - T.O. had 1 reception for 91 yards

Yeah sadly even I will agree with all of you guys. If you guys get him, the problems that might occur with TO, will most likely not be related to previous injuries, lack of skill, or lack of physical fitness. Most recievers in the NFL hit their prime after they are older, then run routes better, and the key thing is they become smarter. With TO, there is nothing different, he is definately in his prime, and he does workout like crazy, most people think he has 2-4 productive years left.

He's got a lot to prove now. I hate TO, but if you guys sign him, I'll definitely be watching when you play the Eagles next year.

Haven't you heard, TO's the best receiver in the NFL today... you can read that silly crapola from any one of a number of TO groupies... never mind that he hasn't been in the top 10 in either receptions or receiving yards the last 3 years (I'm talking about the top 10 among WRs, not among all receivers including TEs and RBs)...

These groupies apparently think that TO will give us 100 catches a year, for 1500 yards and 20 TDs... realists recognize that he was more of an 80 catch, 1200 yard receiver for the Iggles, and they threw the ball a LOT (having nothing much in the way of a running game)...

Try telling them that last year, the Iggles threw the ball 620 times, the Cowboys threw it right at 80 per cent as frequently (500 attempts), and they'll STILL be convinced that Owens will be a league-leading receiver for the Boys...

If Terrell Owens signs with the Boys, he MIGHT be good for 75-80 catches, and right around 1200 yards receiving... that will once again be good enough to put him right around the top 10 wide receivers in the game right now, but no rational fan would call him the best...

Because in Dallas, he'll finally have a capable QB throwing him the ball, and a capable coach coaching him.

Right. In recent history both McNabb and Reid have both accomplished more than Parcells and Bledsoe.

I don't want to find out first-hand. but I'm kind of curious if Owens will do as well with a QB like Bledsoe who isn't really a short pass type of QB. TO hasn't played outside of the West Coast offense either.

That's a point (a factual one at that) that I hadn't even considered.

Add another "Con" to the list. I may need to write on the back of my page though.
