The top 2 WR are gone before the 10th pick in the latest mock draft, so there wouldn’t be a WR worth taking at 12 anyways. If no D player is there, you hope someone is willing to move up to 12 and you move back to gather more picks. Latest mock has Downs going to KC at 9.

It says depth matters. It says you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If we draft a WR it means we got another good one that will keep that WR room competitive and Dak throwing more TDs.

I'd like to think the message would be that they know paying two WRs as #1s is not the recipe to compete for a championship, but that's the way well run franchises think so it's not likely here.

Why does it all have to be sinister? if you need a message, its insurance,

they're looking towards the future and make sure they have next man up... There's no message being sent but just viewing your due diligence But they didn't see Lamb who took over for Amari..

I disagree if you're using BPA looking towards the future, for insurance , if that is clearly best player on the board they take it why not? it would actually do their job..

But both can be true You could move down some spots and still a receiver either at 12 or 20 get you in a second-round pick.

It's says that they could trade Pickens next year because they would have a top receiver on a rookie contract. They could then use the money saved on a different position.

I figured if I were in that position, I’d be a little upset too. You mentioned he liked me in your game, but look at the situation—there’s no way to get the funding and still build the infrastructure. Why not take a fairer deal? What’s his asking price? Are you saying loyalty only goes one way? What happened to a team-friendly deal where everyone wins?

Does every player need to have the same contract? Why do they all think that being the next man up means they should be the highest paid, especially at quarterback? That’s not true, just because someone’s due for a new deal doesn’t mean they automatically deserve that kind of contract.

That works both way,

poor George if he had to play on a 3-year, $96M fully guaranteed deal, unless there were restrictions on production or getting in trouble detrimental to the team.

They could also add a no-trade clause and guarantee he wouldn’t get tagged after those three years, so he could come back to the table. What happened to those types of deals? That’s the real issue, not the Jones family. They’re the ones who should be upset. Now, whenever someone’s contract is up, they want to be the highest-paid ever at their position, and that just can’t always happen.

George does NOT yet deserve a big deal because he’s never carried a team like JSN or CeeDee Lamb. He’s never been the only star on a team with nothing else around him and still produced elite numbers.
