What movie REMAKES are on deck? Should they or shouldn't they thread.

The current trend in Hollywood is to borrow from earlier successes. Especially from the 80's. They're taking advantage of former Generation X kids that now have families. Reselling it to the adults, and force feeding their children a modernized version of their parents' favorites.

I'm not limiting this to the 80's BTW, but it just seems that it's the most prominent decade to steal from lately.

What movies are next?

What movies should be remade?

What movies shouldn't?

Which remakes would piss you off the most.

Rad
Willow
Gleaming the Cube
The Sandlot

Any of these?

I think the one I'd be most upset about would be none other than The Goonies.

For me....that one is untouchable.

I have a friend who is involved in the screenwriting trade, and he told me that EVERY TV show from the 60's on is in some form of pre-production, especially the horror and SF types. Serious lack of imagination and ability to recognize decent scripts....

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before a crappy remake of Breakfast Club is in the works.

And that would be awful.

I think they need to find the next John Wayne and start with his movies.

I love The Breakfast Club. I still watch it if I see it come on.

I read somewhere that a remake of the movie Forbidden Planet has been kicked around. Also a film version of Atlas Shrugged is being done. I would like to see a revision of Voyage to the bottom of the sea and The Time Tunnel. Or how about remaking The Flying Nun or Gilligans Island. The possibilities are endless.

There's been talk/haggling over the past 10 years about a Hawaii Five-0 movie.

It's looking doubtful now.

I always thought Matt Damon would be a good Danny Williams (Dano).

Viggo Mortensen, George Clooney as Steve McGarrett?

I think a revamped Flash Gordon would be pretty cool. I liked the original but the special effects were so horrid.

I remember seeing Flesh Gordon, but it was of a different genre and it was really bad.:D
