The original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". I was pretty much a handful as a kid and thought my parents would like to replace me with a cooperative pod and I checked under my bed before going to sleep and sometimes in the middle of the night to make sure there wasn't a pod about my size under there and I did that for at least 6 months.

I have to go with Jaws. I still don't care for the ocean. I'm not to paranoid to go in, but I don't enjoy it much. I think that may be more because of the jellyfish sting I got when I was a kid though.

Deliverance is the reason I refuse to get fat. I ain't gonna be nobody's piggy!

When I was 4-5 my aunt gave me one of those books with a cassette tape. It was the movie recap of Star Wars. So while not a movie itself I was scared to death of Darth Vader. My brother told me that he lived by the washer and dryer outside our bathroom and bedroom. I literally peed my pants I was so scared of going to the bathroom by myself.

Jaws and The Exorcist. Scarred for life from both movies. When you saw something like this for the first time you realize that all the cartoons and Disney movies simply didn’t prepare you at all. Only took a few hours to go from one extreme to the other.

Was in the 1960 vs Godzilla

Oh, man! I thought you meant the original King Kong movie. I was about a toddler when I first saw that movie and was traumatized enough to remember the moment my mother took be by the hand and walked me out of the apartment we lived in in NY. My father brother and sisters were watching it on one of those 9 inch b&w screens with the 30 inch square cabinet.

Watching King King today, no one would buy the cheesy special effects. I make you wonder what someone in a coma since 1950 woke up today and watch any of the horror movies made today would think.

Poltergeist- particularly the clown under the bed! :omg:
This is a good one. Scared the hell out of me as a kid too.
Excellent choice. That scene where he’s captured aboard the ship was terrifying, especially because on some levels it’s believed to be a true story.
It's an interesting story for sure.

For my answer, I think it was the Friday the 13th movies. Freaking Jason in his hockey mask just creeped me out. When he jumps out of the lake at the end of the first movie. I'm 42 years old and I still can give myself the creeps if I'm hanging out in lake water and that crosses my mind. LOL! o_O

Also, and this one doesn't qualify as a scare but just emotionally, but The Neverending Story. When Atreyu's horse Artax dies in the Swamp of Sadness.:(

Footloose
Indiana Jones
Top Gun before Tom Cruise got so weird!

Pumpkinhead. Was probably way too young to watch it but an uncle (figures) turned it on one night. I couldn't have been any older than 6 or 7 and I had night terrors for years over that one.
