What needs to change on the defense?

I'm posting this w/o having read a single reply, but I won't be surprised if I'm not the first one to say...

I think there maybe something to this...because as soon as we get players from other teams or draft them they wind up being rather average here and when they leave they tend to play better...

see Eb, meyers, mathis, stoutmier, hardy, evans, pittman etc... I am not saying they play like world beaters on other teams but they do play better...

I just don't believe we are utilizing the personnel as well as we can...

We don't utilize our personnel properly and that's part of the problem why we'll never be that great of a defense as long as Zimmer remains our DC.

you could put the top FS prospect back there and if Dallas STILL gives QBs all day to shop receivers - they're dead in the water.

it's ALL ABOUT THE PRESSURE. and there just isn't enuff.

never have words been so true.....heck even Parcells says it....which is why I am so puzzled. Because either we don't have ENOUGH pressure players OR we don't scheme the one's we have to have a party at the QB

This is the NFL...any decent QB if given time will find somebody open

safty is a big ? in pass covrage so how about ohh i dunno we drop the 2 deep zone which does noting but help the offence go after them, just a though

I think that may be part of the problem...I think proper utilization of personnel is the other

I think the defense needs to mix in more blitzes in order to create more pressure. They just aren't getting there enough. Plus, they need to find safeties who can cover and CBs who can catch interceptions. Henry has no hands at all. He hasn't been the same player since he got injured last season and I can't figure out why. He got off to a good start here and has been bad since that injury.

Blitzing is fine if they get there but our guys don't get there
