What Non-WR 1st pick would upset you?

The best
He's not generational. He's really good....but at BEST he'd be 3rd best in last 10 years....and that's if you say he was a better prospect than Zeke, Derek Henery, Christian McCaffrey etc.

Nobody can argue that he was as highly thought of as Saquon or Bijan when they both came out. Those guys were the best players in their draft class (though Jalen Carter was right there with Bjan). Jeanty is not the best player in this draft, and while this is a deep draft, it's a weak draft as far as top end talent.

The best player in this draft is either Carter or jeanty. No rb had his contact balance in years. He is a pinball just bounces and keeps going. He is going to break countless runs to the house in te next five years.

It's obvious that WR is a priority for the Cowboys.
If Tet or Golden is available at 12 but they decide to go with the another position, what player would upset you if they go a different avenue?
I guess it comes down to which positions are deep and ones they feel they won't have a chance to get in the 2nd or 3rd.
Any WR pick would upset me.

Mykel Williams for me too. I am just scared the Cowboys think he's another D-Law when they used a 2nd last year thinking Kneeland was the same thing.

A CB, WR, or OL should be the pick at 12. If they want a RB or DT in the first they should do whatever necessary to trade down.
Why? A stud DT could put us in the super bowl. A stud RB would improve us more than any WR, especially in this draft.

TE for sure, but to be honest Golden would be upsetting to me as well at pick 12

You absolutely cannot scream BPA this entire offseason and then scream that we need to take a WR in the 1st. There is absolutely no way any WR is the BPA at #12.

I would flip my shift if my team turned the 12th overall pick into a RB or a TE
Yet they refuse to invest in DTs

We already have WR1.

Need RB1.

I think there have only been 3 DT’s in the top 10 in the last 10 years. This chart has a qualification of a minimum of 15 players/position but out of 18 total top 10 DT’s, 15 were from 2000-2011.

Not suggesting that DT isn’t important. Just adding some context.

WR would be a dumb pick at #12. The wrs this year would be wr6 in last years draft.
Well just about every area of this draft is rated lower, so what we gonna skip this draft?

This offense is going nowhere without a decent wr2. Don't believe the hype, these guys may look to be less than, but they are still very good and we just need to hit on one in 1st round otherwise we might as well just tune out til next year when we get higher position in the draft

If this is the case...and it sounds like it is...that the talent is weak and nit enough studs...

Maybe I do waste the pick on Shedaur if he is there.

Assuming we don't have a trade down offer, assuming the talent is that underwhelming, assuming Shedaur is willing to come here and sit behind Dak for up to 2 years.

Jerry had the restraint to resist picking Manziel...and Randy Moss so I think he could do it.
I would like to know more about this situation.

I think i have heard Stephen pulled phone away from Jerry or something along those lines...

Going way off topic and into speculation...but Manziel was quite a long time ago...

From a legal standpoint and tight family business standpoint...what is in place that allows Stephen to override Jerry? Seems like there would have to be something legal or a group understanding amongst siblings and McClay that Stephen is in power.

No need to derail the convo with posts wasting people's time by suggesting Jerry is always in charge...I agree...he could have had a deal in place foe a few years to give Stephen time at helm. And that could have been revoked since.

I'm just saying it seems odd that Jerry would allow his son to override him.

Maybe I'm over-thinking it and Jerry just let Stephen have his way...but it would suggest Stephen has been in charge for a while. Which some posters have been claiming for a while
