ok this is what norm is saying on the ticket.

the cowboys by trading jason fergueson, and signing flozell adams, basicallly swapped their contracts, and all jason fergueson will cost us is about 1.2 million this year on the books,

which means we signed flozell for jason contract that he was due this year, with an added 1.2 million to add for on the books, so basically they swapped money with jason to keep flozell, if you understand what i am saying

next, with the trade, we swap 6th round picks this year with miami, which means we get the first pick in the 6th round this year, plus we get miami's 6th pick in 2009

now, norm says what is denver broncos asked for javon walker, a 5th round draft choice, so say we trade for walker wr, it will cost us a 5th round pick this year, and we wont have a pick in the 5th round this year, if trade works out, but at same time,, we have the first pick in the 6th round with miami for trading fergy, norm says that is brilliant work

now, on to roy williams wr, he had a texas hat on in an interview, didnt talk football too much, but said he ran a 4.37, and if he ever gets back to a texas team, that he will never leave texas again,

only thing that i am hesitant about roy williams wr detroit, he is asking for like 8-9 million in 2009 when he will be a free agent, so thats ithe main reason why trade rumors have surfaced about lions trading roy williams,

im not happy about losing fergy, but we did need to keep flozell at LOT< till doug free or mcquistan is ready to take over, to me, in the 3-4 defense, you need a big NT in the middle of that defense, but norm says that with ratliff and tank johnson, we are set at NT.

norm also talked about fullback wiht hoyte being cut, he seems to think that crickett can take over, and do better this year,

he is talking about our backup defensive backs now, nate jones, reeves, etc, maybe he says parcells gets keith davis too,

It's starting to make sense now, by picking up the top pick in the 6th round I could see the Walker trade happening soon.

Well, if the money works out with flozell the way norm says it would then that fergy trade was worth it. I would have loved the depth but I think Dallas can find someone else to do not quite as well but okay.

Anyone get a kick out of watching little cowboys farm teams popping up throughout the league? First New Orleans, and now Miami.

Let's see....Fergie, Matt Baker, Sean Ryan. Possibly Davis and/or Reeves. This could be quite a list.

The Walker deal all depends on that 5 million he is due in March. If Dallas has to pay it, then there is no need to do the trade.

So... I do wonder, what gives in regards to the other wrs (besides Crayton and TO) we do have.

Hurd, Stanbeck, Glen, Miles.

If we add Walker and draft a highly drafted WR, somebody has to go.

Glen already seems like he could be gone regardless of what JJones says. And they are very high on Stanbeck so... not sure if they cut Miles and Hurd, but it would look that way.

He also said he did not think Jerry was through making deals. He thought Jerry would sign a FA CB, probably Drayton Florence and draft a CB.

Get a veteran WR, maybe J. Walker and draft a WR.

Might as well keep Reeves instead of getting Florence. Might be cheaper. I personally would draft a cb instead of messing with the FA average cb club.

Everything seems to going per a plan, good news. So far so good.

However, I would rather invest a first (28th) on WR Roy Williams than even a 5th on Javon Walker. His knee injuries worry me. Not to mention his consistency.

If Dallas makes a play for WR Roy Williams, then why not invest a player (Spears and even Ayodele if necessary) and a 3rd for Shaun Rogers too. Dallas will most likely invest a third - fourth rounder towards that position in the upcoming draft anyway. Some of the names being bandied about are Red Bryant and Frank Okam. Both have effort & consistency (pc for "underachiever") concerns, and neither were as productive out of school (nevermind the pros) as Rogers.

At this point, even though I had my doubts earlier, I think Spears has much more upside then Rogers. IMHO Spears had a pretty good year. One in which he started making a few more plays each game, and silently did a very good job in running game.

He started batting down balls, and was playing alertly, getting on fumbles, getting a bit of pressure, and even a sack or late QB hit or two. His motor seemed a bit better, getting back into play at times.

Remember in the 3-4 like this, Spears is a body clogger, run stopper first, who sets up Ware/Ellis/Spencer to make the pressure play. It's not a sexy role, and I thought he showed well this year, and still has a bit of upside.

Rogers apparently has motor/attitude problems and his play has diminished OR is AT LEAST as inconsistent as Spears has been. Spears is hitting year 3/4, the crunch time. Rogers has passed that no?

I'm giving Spears another year. If he plays like last year, he's good enough as long as we don't overpay him next contract.

I would not have any interest in Rogers. He is your classic, lazy underachiever. He finished the year last year at close to 400 pounds. The guy is good for about a quarter and then cant move. This has been his history his entire career. Some people just lose the "hunger" , no pun intended, once they become multi millionaires. Has incredible talent though, no question

...and cut Terry Glenn to offset the money? What would be the cap price on cutting Glenn? Nothing? How does Walker's money look compared to Glenn's?

...and Roy Williams is never injured? Williams has played 16 games only ones in his four years in the league.

(((slap Bat))) You want a fat guy who doesn't take care of himself and can't play for than a couple of plays at a time on your team? Much less, you want to give away players to get him?

HELL NO!!!

Our ST coverage group without Keith Davis is like Pam Anderson without implants.

I have to disagree Pam from the Home Improvement days was hot then she went and got skanky

I agree with you. I liked the untainted Pam Anderson. The tainted one disgusts me. :puke:

'Cept I believe during the Home Improvement days, Pam was implanted already too, perhaps not as significantly though.

I don't know enough about Walker, but it's not likely we want another guy with knee issues. Is he a speed guy? He's a proven vet, but I don't think we have enough roster spots, EVEN if we keep 6 WR's (which we haven't done since I can remember) to spend on a guy that is injury prone/suspect.

We need healthy proven vet or draft a guy early. Maybe both. Glenn = Walker as of now no?

Dood. Who was the hot brunette that played that role a bit later on? I always liked her better.

Walker is going to have microfracture surgery on his knee. That is a step above being knicked up, which is Roy Williams problem. Williams is not only younger and more talented, he is less of a injury risk. Just get the better player.

*SLAP NYC 2X* That fat lazy underachiever still put up SEVEN sacks in 2007. And he is still young, and would be part of a rotation with the Cowboys anyway. Change of scenery did Davis a ton of good, why not Rogers.

The point is to put pressure on opposing offenses. Spears, Ayodele cannot do that and the 3rd rounder is a crap shoot anyway, especially if it is a NT.
