What opportunities will we have at 19

I could be wrong but....
the nyg stay at #2 and take DE Bradley Chubb.
Denver takes Quenton Nelson.
Dolphins draft a QB.
Skins get Vea,Ravens get Ridley....Chargers get a falling TreMaine Edmunds because of all the QBs.
Seattle stays and takes McGlinchey.

Our Board at 19:
DT DaRon Payne
LB LVE
LB Rashaan Evans
OG Isaiah Wynn
OG Will Hernandez
C/G James Daniels

the pick....DaRon Payne.

if between now and draft night Isaiah Wynn shows up on the official 30 list,I reserve the right to change.

100% Positive if there we will pass on Lamar Jackson. There is no way they take a QB because they think Dak is their man.
so YOU KNOW Lamar is going to be great in this league huh? funny how you know hes a starter and better than Dak even though he has one of the lowest CP for top 100 div 1 football statting Qbs..just because hes an athlete doesn't make him good at the next level.. even if he is , will he better than dak, not daks rookie year and if you see Dak at his worst was 13th in the NFL in CP, thats roght not way down low in college but 13th is his floor in THE NFL>>the grass isn't always greener IMO Jackson wont go until the 2nd anyway but someone might reach for the guy but no FN he would be taken at 19 by us..none whatsoever..ridiculous speculation..

now if LJ falls to the third and the cowboys want another qb be able to offer some completion and soe insurance at 2nd string, sure id consider him at 3 and be proactive in not just setting for Dak long term and be prepared just in case..

He is just trolling. See his post history.
for one DW while looking pretty good his Rookie campaign that lasted all of what 7 games?and while his feet and knack for throwing TDs was nice, its an issue like RG3 if you have your QBs getting a blown acl or whatever in his rookie season.. and its the second time now since college , sounds like you are depending on guy who is injury prone at your top position AND even if he comes back ok , will he run as much? will it take some of that special part of his game away? too many questions..as good as an atlhlete that LJ is , hes has more questions than DW coming in and while he may turn out good , you DO NOT take guy like that at 19 unless you had no answer at QB right now and we do..

There are some elite players in round 1 but most will be gone before 19 so it appears there are three viable options for this Cowboys draft:

1. If they truly covet an impact defender like Roquan Smith, they might be able to package something and trade up.

2. They decide that the depth and value in this draft appears to be in rounds 2 and 3, so they trade down to get either extra picks in second or third round.

3. Or they stay at 19, thinking they have an impact immediate starter available when their turn comes.

Gonna be a fun opening night in this draft!

I hope to hell they don't give up picks to draft Roquan "too small" Smith. That would be a monumental mistake.

We aren't cutting Rush. (no way we are keeping 3 qbs on the roster) And what has Jackson proven that he deserves to start over Dak?
Not only that teams want Jackson to try out as a receiver because they don't think he can be a QB but somehow he will beat out Dak who has the longest win streak in Cowboys history and longest completions without a pick in history as a rookie

Yeah, LVE grades out as a first round pick but Vea does not
A first round grade and pick are two different things. Don't be an a** clown. All the players I listed will go in the first round. They all will not grade out as first round talent. Thus the difference between a grade and a pick. Vea is a two down player. He is not a Suh or Donald. Usually there are only 15 to 22 players that grade out as a first round talent. The same goes for 2nd round talent as well. The bulk of the players grade out as 3rd to 4th round talent. JAGs so to speak.

If Dallas drafts Vea in the first, I will be ecstatic. As I would for each of these players:
  • Harold Landry, DE
  • Jaire Alexander, CB
  • James Daniels, OC, Iowa
  • Isaiah Wynn, OG, Georgia
  • Will Hernandez, OG
  • Leighton Vander Esch, LB
    • Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
    • Da’Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
    • Vita Vea, DT, Washington

If you don't know how to look at film, at least learn to read. Vea has 1T skills and can rush and collapse the pocket. He's not coming off the field

It's idiotic to say he's not a first round talent
LVE is a bust waiting to happen and not a first rd talent

I think four QBs go above us in the first round. That leaves 14 position players who will go before we pick.

At #19 our board could be wiped out of true first round graded players, or there may be 3 or 4 still available. What if a QB is sitting there at #19 and someone wants to move back up into the first round to get one?

It is doubtful that someone who is drafting between #20 and #32 will come up for a QB (although the Patriots may make a move for a guy they really like). It would be beneficial to move back if our board is wiped out, but moving from #19 all the way out of the round would really be a kick in the gonads.

Presumably moving back that far would cost more than a second and third round pick. Would you move back to say #33 to #38 range for a second, third and next year's first?

IDK if it would be worth it or not, unless the team was expected to be drafting again in the top 10. I think that opportunity may arise. I just don't know if we would do it or not. I would probably pull the trigger on that if it involved next year's first and a 2nd and 3rd this year.

I keep seeing the need at linebacker driving mocks at #19. I don't think linebacker will be the BPA at #19.

What options do you guys think will be on the table at #19? I think Wynn, Vanderesch and Hernandez are long gone by the end of the first round. Moore, Sutton, and Ridley should also be long gone.

McGlinchey and Brown could also be gone by the end of the 1st. The cost of moving back more than 5 spots or so could completely change the landscape of the wrong players fly off the board.

Not as many as if we had lost the last game of the year against 3rd stringers.

LLLOOLLL

This team has more pressing needs than to take a QB at 19. We have our QB and old jerrah is not giving up on him this quickly. H--- red is still here, he has all kinds of patience. We need DT, LB and S, we cant afford to waste picks on a backup, crap we already have our backup.

many of the games top qb's are now in their mid 30's, ergo why they'll go quickly. I don't study college players so I don't really know if this will be a position rich draft like last year which was full of quality d-backs. I hope there are a few top wr's and lb's out there. we're sorely hurting at those spots.

Good depth at dline and lb in this draft
