..is that regardless of what happens today, the Eagles will be favored to and probably win the NFC East next year.

Giants - have peaked and just lost their defensive guru

Skins - they never have enough to put it all together

Cowboys - where do I begin?

Eagles - they really look like they are putting together a dominant d. They will only be better next year.

Every year is a new year. Does not matter who is favored!!! Haven't you learned that yet?

Eagles are getting old though, and still have problems on offense. They are playing well right now, but for crying out loud, if Tampa Bay can just beat FRIGGIN OAKLAND AT HOME, the Eagles never even sniff the playoffs. That's how precarious their success is.

What really sucks about '09 is that our two star receivers and our star QB aren't on the same page as the offensive coordinator.

The Eagles are nothing more or less the latest beneficiary of parity.

It looks a little better than the Cardinals or the Saints or the Ravens, because they've been in the playoffs recently. But they've been on a downward slide the last couple years, and they've been calling for the heads of Reid and McNubb the last two years.

In fact, when was the last time you've seen THAT in back-to-back seasons??
Last year, up until Thanksgiving, they we're throwing Coughlin and Manning under the bus in NY. Then, PRESTO! This year, all year long, nothing but "Get rid of Reid and McNabb" out of Philly.

THAT is a manifestation of parity due to salary caps and free agency. We've had this discussion before, a couple weeks ago. No one knows what to expect out of anybody, except a few teams in the AFC. The NFC?? Please?!?!?! Two 9 win teams playing to go to the SB???? That means we're supposed to think that the Cardinals and Eagles are "on the rise"??

I'll guarantee that one, or probably BOTH of these two impostors don't make the playoffs next year! Guaranteed!!!!!!!!!!

The Eagles are NOT "a lock to win the NFC East" next year. Nobody is. Nobody's a "lock" to do anything anymore in the NFC.............

That's a pretty awesome scenario when a bunch of people in here want Gruden for HC when they couldn't beat the Oakland Raiders at home...nice job Chucky. He's .500 for life with a tough guy attitude.

Fixed it for you. :)

Maybe its just me but I'm assuming this will get the attention it needs during the offseason.

I agree that the Eagles current supremacy means little in 2009.

I was very skeptical when I heard them referred to as the 2007 Giants for their late season push. That 44-6 was a lot more about Cowboy meltdown than Eagle superiority IMO.

Geez, didn't the Eagles lose to the fading Skins the week previous?

The Eagles were schizophrenic in 2008 from what I saw. I think they are too dependent on Westbrook and he is often banged up. The Eagles are most dangerous when counted out and most disappointing when counted on.
