What round would you draft Jameson Williams?

Late 2nd round at the earliest.

Based on the decency of his injury, he’s certainly not going to be ready to play the first half of next season. I think he may be available toward the last half or quarter of the season.

Before the injury he was top 10 on some draft boards. At this point best case he would be ready some time around the opener. Worst case he misses the season. If he was there end of round 2, this team loves those risk/ reward scenarios even though most havent panned out. If they pick him late round one late 20's that probably would make me turn in my fan card after 50 plus years. I hate drafting WRs or RBs that high unless they cant miss.

No way before rd 3 pick

There will be players who can and will start for us at OL, DL, LB and TE at our rd 1-2 picks

that’s where we need to go

now, if we’re thinking to draft him in rd 2 and move on from Cooper next year then I’m down with that as long as we are active in FA

4th round. Dallas needs guys that can come in ands play. Drafting WR with premium pick means they need him for the 2022 season, and Williams is iffy to play for most of the season. Luxury pick???

In a scenario when interior OL, DT’s, LB’s and DE’s are gone end of 1 I would take up him in one no problem. He’ll be playing by October or November.

I'd take him end of the 1st. He was WR1 on a lot of boards before the injury and would have gone top 15 easy. He'll be back by the end of his rookie season, and then you've got him for 4 cost-controlled seasons afterwards.

Low risk, high reward IMO... the only question is how much do you discount him for 1 likely lost year. I don't think it's as much as some fans might think. Just as a point of comparison, Jeffrey Simmons was top 5 talent with a blown ACL, and he only slid to pick #19. The Titans haven't regretted that pick at all.

Id take him round 1. He is a stud and you are unlikely to find a better player where we will be picking

It wouldn't surprise me if he gets drafted late first early second. We aren't the only team that will draft based on getting an injured top talent in later rounds anymore.

Lol you guys are dreaming. He’s still a first round pick and probably won’t make it to pick 20.

A WR? Geez, people, we don't need WR's. Drafting players willynilly because they're a big name is what keeps us from super bowls. We need OL and a DT disruptor if we ever want to move on in the playoffs.

I will say this. I’d make an exception for some speed and that guy has it.

With that said. We need to improve the run game. Whatever it takes. Oline is top priority imo.

Lamb is a good player, but we didn't start improving until we started drafting tough minded DL's and fell into Parsons. We desperately need another game changer on D. Much much more than any other position. Yes, they are hard to find, but it's worth it taking a few shots to find that one disruptor.

I haven't even begun my draft research yet, I always wait til the playoffs are over.

How did Silvera and Booker do this year?

He is entering the draft still. He is a possible medical redshirt year. Jameson Williams could be there when we pick.

Love the player. If he drops to round 2, I’d be all over it. But a team that doesn’t mind waiting for him will probably take him in round 1.

I thought this thread was about where J. Williams would be drafted in general, not where we’d take him.

As much as I like him I wouldn’t take him with our 1st round pick. There will likely be a starting caliber o-linemen, corner, or linebacker to take at the back of Round 1.

Or even better, a monster of a pocket collapsing DT!!!!!

Keeping true to the question, what round would I take him? If I'm drafting for the Cowboys, I'd take him in the 3rd if available. This, of course, assumes that we let Gallup walk.
I'm just not for the Cowboys' approach to drafting injured players in the second round. I'd only take him in the 3rd because the Cowboys will be drafting between 27-32. By the 3rd round, we're essentially drafting in the top of the 4th.
Besides, I think he'll be healed in time to play next season.
