Two upcoming games against these sad sacks of the NFL.

Think about it.

Two weeks. AT HOME.

These are crucial games (aren't they all?) and Jerra needs to be on the sidelines to intimidate and will this team to victories the next two games.

And buy time for some injuries to fully heal.

After these two cupcakes, it is on to the Steelers, Giants, Philly, Ravens. OK, Ravens do not inspire fear, but what of the other three teams on the schedule?

Talk among yourselves.

Yes, but to make that one count, these two next games will buy time and the Boys will be at home.
Not only do the injuries need to fully heal but Garrett has to put this fine offensive machine together again with Romo and Felix and Williams.

These two games, boy howdy, represent a gold mine for us.

...for this team. The Cowboys don't have alot of wiggle room to allow for losses if they want to build for a playoff berth.

We've all seen what depths this team can play down to and anything less than a determined and focused effort could easily see this team playing golf in January.

The 49ers have been playing pretty damn well the last 2 weeks (shouldve won vs the Cardinals and kicked *** vs. the Rams). They are no pushover. For the Seahawks, they pushed AZ to the edge this week and arent gonna be a rollover either.

Especially with Hasselbeck just barely coming back from injury. Him and Branch both came back this past week. It'll take them some time to get back in the flow of things, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the 'Hawks play spoiler for some teams this year, starting with the 'Skins this week.

IMO we can only afford to lose 1 NFC game so that means we need to beat Philly or the Giants.

We won our last game 14 - 10 after being 1-4 the last while. Our QB's pinkie keeps coming up because he says it's bothering him, it really is and it isn't allowing him to go down field as often as he could in the past according to the last game played. These are facts, don't get emotional.

Our O-line and running game were very good last game and we out physicalled a very physical team. Nonetheless, we scored 14 points but gave up only 10 to a team that hasn't scored much its last 3 to 4 games. Our defense is what it is depending on what part of the field they are having to start defending at, just like the rest of the other top 40% in the league defensively.

We're 6-4 and are horrible after winning or losing against meaningul games just like the last game we played. You may say San Fran isn't meaningful, but if we lose we go 6-5 and that's pretty much prohibitive and therefore pretty damn meaningful to me.

We're talking like we already accomplished a run of victories which is exactly what we nee and should be in position for but San Fran has a bunch of players trying to either stay in the NFL, on the San Fran roster or keep te current contract they already have knowing the uncertanty financially structured after this season.

They have a coach who has been a head coaching candidate the last 2 prior seasons but has not landed a position of that stature until this internship. He's hungry to prove himself and will pull out any stops possible to sustain that opportunity and so forth will his players. San Fran somehoe put alot of points up and gave it to a team that beat us a month ago when our starting QB was healthy.

Basicallt to answer the above asked question from the OP and utilizing the above mentioned facts. San Fran, and only they should be focused on right now, represents an opportunity at home to go 7-4 and get closer to getting our swagger back. We don't have our "swagger" back yet for sure, we won our last game by 4 in a hostile situation.

San Fran also represents, if we lose, the very high probability of not making the playoffs and therefore being a failure of a season. We would be foolish to call this team a "sack" as we were humungous "sacks' against St. Lous at 4-2.

The first half of this season we had a soft team, maybe still/maybe not, but our fans are even more soft, into the hype, over assuming and over boisterous than ur players. How dare we look past this next game and even beyond the one right after it? You assume we'll be 8-4? I certainly hope so and believe it is possible as long as we realize the opportunity at hand.

What the opportunity at hand means is that we focus, practice accordingly, scheme, get hungry/humble as a team and perform on gameday. If we do all of that we beat anyone in this league just like any team. If we forget 1 of those fundamental elements and that's where the hole in our game is. That's where we get exploited and that's why we probably lose our next game.

Focus on San Fran, utilize all of the above elements and San Fran represents a much deserved victory. Don't mention any other games after San Fran. Please folks, we won 2 games in our last 6 and the last 1 was by 4 points. Be positive, but very realistic, no one is an easy for sure game from here on out.

OMG, that would be GLORIOUS if they beat the Skins', which I can see happening. We better win though also :)

If the Commanders game represents the beginning of the season's turn-around, the next two games are when the Cowboys need to build the momentum that they'll need to carry them through the rest of the season and post season.

Right now all games are important. The SF game is just as important as the Giants game. Last year Dallas got off to a fast start and faded this year Dallas has the opportunity to change that around. Hopefully the Skins victory is the beginning of a strong finish.

Winning these 2 games are crucial. The games against the Ravens, Steelers, Giants and Eagles will be very physical.

Don't get the wrong impression about the Ravens based on that performace versus the Giants either. The Ravens play extremely physical on defense and they normally stuff the run quite well. It does help us that they are missing 2 starters in the secondary and probably have the most injuries of any team in the league. The Ravens also aren't exactly lights out on offense. With a rookie QB, they look to run quite often and they try to limit the amount of throws Flacco has to make. Shut down their running game and they will struggle to do much.

The Giants are not unbeatable, but their OL is playing lights out right now and with the running backs they have, it makes for a tough combination. It is one of those games where our OL needs to dominate the our front 7 on defense need to play extremely well. The Giants secondary is probably their biggest weakess on D, but that front 7 helps hide those weaknesses.

The Steelers have plenty of injuries to deal with, but yet again, another defense that plays extremely physical and tries to impose its will on you. Like the Ravens, Pitt tries to manage the game by running the rock, but their OL is not as strong as it has been in the past. The Steelers struggle on offense and don't have major weapons to hurt you with. Holmes is the homerun threat at WR, and Ward is still very solid, just a little slower now. Stuff the run against these guys and DON'T let their defense force you into turnovers.

The Eagles are one of those teams that seem to play up to their level of competition. I imagine playing against us, a division rival, we will get their best effort, even if they are out of the race by then. As always, Westbrook is their main weapon, followed by McNabb. Contain Westbrook and force other players to beat you.

I did not mean to give the impression that these are gimme :) games.

It's just that these two teams are lower-tier teams and not dominating like the Giants.

Wade made a good observation this week, saying the Cowboys must be vigilant because whoda thunk the Rams would be no pushovers?

The point is, again: two opposing teams that have struggled and home field for two weeks and, more important, two more weeks in which to heal.

Cowboys 34, Forty Whiners 10
