What if the 2 first round picks are at the end of the 1st round. Would you still trade him?
That's why it makes no sense to throw out any trade possibility. It all comes down to which team he could possibly get traded too. Obviously trading him a playoff contender would require more draft picks because those 1st rounders would be picks in the 20's.

I haven't read through the whole thread. I had picked sign him but I would gladly take both of Cleveland's 1st round picks this year for him. In a heartbeat.

The Cowboys really need him. In my opinion the best defensive player on the team.
Yes, but is he going to win us a championship. I’ll take the draft and get Manning next season. You never know, but you never know.

Sell his hype for multiple players, some of which might be able to play the run.
Yes, multiple first and second rounders I would hope. Make this like the Herschel Walker trade and use it to build the next great Cowboys teams.
Only problem is we don't have Jimmy doing the drafting. If they keep on drafting the Mazi's and Schoonmaker's with first and second round draft picks- it won't matter anyhow and we will be right where we are now in the future as well.
This guy has been a drama queen and attention seeker since he's been here and I am really sick of his mouth that never shuts up. I won't miss that.

The Walker fleece was a once in a lifetime deal but you make excellent points. I’d take 2-1s in a heartbeat. Maybe this clown show will finally put some stock in the QB position with enough draft capital.

He is a great player early in the season, a good player mid-season, an average player late in the season, and disappears in the playoffs. Not the kind of player worthy of a record contract. (4 playoff games= 8 solo tackles and 1 sack.).
The problem is that he is playing out of position. He is too small to play DE for an entire 17 game season. He should be the best linebacker in football, but linebackers don't get paid much in comparison.

When it comes to labor vs Management, especially in pro sports, I side with labor. Always.

Exactly right. He should be an OLB in a 3-4 scheme. He gives away to much size to go up against those bigger guys for a whole season and hold up. He breaks down or wears down every season.
Plus he is one-dimensional. Its all about sacks/pressures. He's great at it, no doubt - but what have we won with him? Theres more to a winning football team than just getting one sack a game. Thats one play out of how many on defense, 50-60 in a game? That one sack is great and the pressures too but not if you are getting gashed by the run because of the lane you vacated to go get the sack the rest of the game. Sacks are so overrated.

Do players get to pick which position they should play, or do they play what works best for the team?

He's cancer. Puts self before team.

If we're gonna pay somebody, pay jimmy to eval and recruit talent

A team like KC or Philly might, but that's because their first round picks will probably be very late in the draft.
Good point, I didn't even think of that. A late 1st isn't worth anywhere near what an early 1st would be.
