What should they do at number 2 receiver?

As far as RB being a bigger need, it's also easier to find a decent RB later in the draft...go draft a WR early on and a RB will come.

If I trust the scouting department at one thing, it's the ability to find a RB.

Maybe. But I have a hard time they would give Sutton up just for a trade up. I think they'd see his value as more than just eight spots in the draft.

Well, they probably see the mistake as relying on TWO offensive linemen. So as long as we're not starting two rookie WRs or two rookies CBs or whatever, we're all good.

They do learn from their mistakes, like shopping for their cheap talent at the START of free agency this year instead of several weeks into it. That's just brilliant strategy that no other team thought of.

When the injuries start setting in, it definitely becomes tougher. Like with Romo, we didn't take advantage of the chances that we had so there's a good chance the window has closed for Prescott, too.

I don't say that as someone who has been his biggest fan, because I'm not. I say it as someone who believes that if Eli Manning can get two Super Bowl titles, if Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Nick Foles can get one, then Prescott was good enough to do it if this front office knew how to build a team.

I'm all for upgrading our QB, but I'm not sure even Patrick Mahomes could overcome this front office.

The Dallas Cowboys are not a football team. They are actors paid very well, win or lose. The tradition that made the Cowboys is gone. And us Cowboy fans can not thank Jerry for that.

Draft a top guy in the draft.

They need to get a qb,wr, rb , in 1st 3 rounds.

Agree. I think people are in love with Matthew Goldens 40 time. IMO I think Luther Burden is far an away a superior player. That being said, McMillan or Egbuka should be their targets.
 
My thought process on all of this: (and I have been on board with Jeanty at 12 this whole offseason)

Drafting a RB in the early part of the 1st round means you have a team that is set up to get to the SB in the next 4 years. Those are prime years for MOST running backs, and Jeanty has a lot of wear on him. I see him having an amazing first 4 or 5 years at most but running out of gas after that.

Drafting a WR sets you up for a player with a 8 year window usually. That seems to fall more in line with the Cowboys future.
I am not a huge fan of Tet either as he seems to be a player that will be a slot type player or Z receiver and a #2 or slot most his career.
 
Who believes in the two current offensive tackles being able to keep healthy the QB, two high value skilled players added...uninjured any way?
 
Draft a high end Wr in the draft no matter what!

So if you think it is too much to sign one of these free agent WRs AND draft a wr in 1st or 2nd round, then don't sign the free agent

I personally think we could sign a free agent, but it should be for the right price because we are in fact drafting one high
 
IS ALLEN REALLY GOING TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS, or is he just the NEXT best FA WR not named Cooper Cupp????

I just believe Jeanty may be a special player, and I'd like to watch that. It could be a Barry Sanders on the Lions-type situation, but at least that's more entertaining than just making it to the playoffs and laying an egg.

If Jeanty is there at 12, it's just too much value for me to pass up. I'd get my receiver in the second round. I mean, I'd be all for Jack Bech in the second, and it's possibly that he could be had with a trade-down from 44.

I am with you on this. Jeanty reminds of what Derrick Henry was for the Titans. Just a fantastic player on a team that never made it far enough.

I like this picture you conjured up. If the OL improves just little bit more then it could be quite entertaining. And don't forget Ferguson is not a bad player either and has quite a bit of experience now.
