What should they do at number 2 receiver?

I think asides from Hunter, Graham, Carter and Jeanty this draft is weak at top, but there is some really good depth.

There is quality depth after day one in this draft. Your wr is only going to be as good as the situation he was drafted in.

A good example would be Odunze vs McMillian. Odunze was the clear wr1 at UW, but McMillian had Baker throwing to him while Odunze had Williams who struggled in his first year.

I guy I really like is Alic Ayomanor. Probably a third day guy who shredded Hunter when they matched up in college.

We invested a first round pick on DT two years and he hasn’t panned out.
Yes they did and he is a work in progress. But that is a FAR cry from what Philly has done. The Cowboys still need a big investment even if Mazi has the light go on this year.

Now do since Jimmy left.
No thanks. Not worth the time investment. You obviously care far more.

All I said was "You are talking to a fan base that has continually watched their team make late picks and sign UDFA's that not only make the team, but do well." and I am 100% correct.

Like I said Philly had a top 5 pick and picked the same player we would have. Unfortunately we reached for Mazi who’s been average at best. He won’t be seeing a second contract.

A big decision is coming at number 2 receiver. As of today it looks like they have several options.

1. Sign Keenan Allen. This would cost them some money. Maybe 12 to 15 million a year on a 2 year deal.

2. Trade for Courtland Sutton. Maybe they could trade pick 12 for Sutton and pick 20. They then would have Sutton and could draft their running back and the do have the cap space to sign Sutton to a multi year deal.

3. Draft Tet McMillan, or Emeka Egbuka, or Golden. This puts the 2 spot on the shoulders of a rookie.

4. Sign Tyler Lockett and still draft a rookie.
They are too smart. They will stick with the motely crew except for CeeDee,

DT is deep? Man, you gotta be on drugs. DT is not only shallow, it's exceptionally shallow. We suck there. It's why we lose in the playoffs every year.

Naw not on drugs DT is deep in the draft is what my statement was . With a 1st spent on Mazi and his supposed improvement late in season and osa resign I wouldn’t hold your breath on DT taken before 3rd round

Now maybe if nick scourton is available at 44 they pull trigger but I doubt he’s there

Don't think I said that. And what happened to Mazi his rookie year was 100% McCarthy's fault.

He played better last year. Hopefully he will keep his trajectory going up.
It’s not worth a debate but you did say that in fact you said that to me when I was griping about Mazi

I hope you’re right because we need him to be a beast

Gotcha!!! That makes sense then. This is a great DT draft, and once again I don't expect us to parttake.

Ayamnor is a decent shout, though the high % drops makes we worry that Dak will soon exclude from the 'Circle of Trust'.

The obvious choice, is Tet, but if he's available at 12 the 'sensible' option would be to trade down and fill a number of the glaring wholes.....as you say there are a number of 'tall target, X's' that'll help in the Red Zone/contested catch scenario's. eg like a Savion Williams, Higgins or Tre Harris

Not saying you aren’t.

What I am saying is. Go look at what happened when Jerry didn’t have a Johnson or Parcells on staff.

You can’t count on the Tony Romos and the diamonds you find once a decade when you refuse to spend in FA, don’t sign your own players until the last minute because you want to stay in the news cycle, and take risks on second rounders like they don’t matter.

Yes we have had success in drafting later and udfa.

But for every Walls there are 100 players who don’t even make the team.

Here, the second wide receiver is actually the number 6 receiver.

It goes TE, CeeDee, RB, the other tight end, the slot receiver, and then the second wide receiver.
