What should we expect from the Head Coach tonight?

I've been against the MM signing since day 1. And after watching all 5 episodes of Hard Knocks, it still seems like MM is a bad head coach. And yes, they could only show so much. Seemed like he was just there to collect a paycheck. Never saw any real leadership in the way he was coaching coaching team.

But I'll try my best to give him the benefit of the doubt.

We are probably all agree that we are the underdog tonight because Dallas is facing the contending Superbowl Champs.

But what do we need to see in a loss to at least have some bright spots to know that the coach is effective?

  • Few penalties. Specifically illegal formation. Seems like that happens all the time here.
  • No turnovers
  • And players giving 100% at all times.

If we don't see that, then that means we still have a problem at head coach.

He can't control the penalties or turnovers.

First game of the year on national TV so giving effort shouldn't be an issue.

Honestly, drawing conclusions about the HC after only the first game of the year against the defending super bowl champions in their stadium is really reaching.

He was the head coach last year and it wasn't pretty. He lucked out because of the injuries.

A look of horror and utter disbelief?

An expression on his face that looks like he was sucker punched in the guts by Mile Tyson?

A disturbing laughter indicating he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown?

A nervous breakdown?

I'm joking.....McCarthy is a professional. He is also a pretty good manager of coaches. He will allow his coordinators to do their jobs and make the decisions that a HC makes in a game. I think he's just as curious as we are when it comes to the results.

He has 17 weeks to show me what we have in him as HC. I don't think they win tonight, but keeping it close and losing to a better team at this stage of the year is palatable.

He's better than Garrett! I expect improvement in all phases on last season.

He's a good coach....I don't know why some of you don't respect that.....I guess everyone has to complain about something.

Some people are ridiculous after what we just watched for a decade!

We need to be effective in the redzone (TD's not FG's)
Protect Dak
Win the turnover battle

Let's see if, three things that i should expect from MM tonight:

1). Act like you know what you're doing. Giving customary glares at the officials on suspicious calls.
2) Don't forget to use your timeouts, but don't use them all in the first quarter. Take the dammm delay of game penalties we will have because of "rust".
3) If you get hungry, don't have that hot dog on the sideline like Switzer did. If you have to have it, go into the medical tent faking an injury to the groin. And i guess there is a 4th.
4) Do not, i repeat do not use that red flag you are given as a napkin. Get mustard all over it and it will look like a penalty flag.
