Does it have to be a Cowboys play? The best I can think of is the Titans in the Superbowl where they fell 1 yard short of scoring the touchdown.

"Close, but coming up short."

Hopefully that changes this year.

One of the few occasions that I agree abersonc. Great end result by Barber, but I was screaming at the TV cuz he was 2in from the play being a safety.
Fav Roy play has been mentioned, but which RB did he just destroy while o a blitz? I wanna say it was Kevin Jones?

Witten's romp is my current fav play of his. Can't beat it.

Romo's Ram scramble was great. Also, liked his fakeout and TD toss to Tony Curtis.

TO's TD catch where he grabbed the dude's popcorn.

Colombo's destruction of Deangelo will always be a fav.

Glenn has made some amazing plays with Cowboys. My most fav catches generally are those where it requires precise inbound footing. He ALWAYS seemed to get his feet inbound. One of my fav plays off the top of my head is when he grabbed the ball over the defender for a TD. I wanna say it was against the Saints, but I can't remember. But I remember the guy getting up mad, cuz he thought it was offensive PI.

I get that, but I just don't think he ever ran backwards. Looked like he got hit stumbled backwards off balance got hit again which knocked him in the endzone.

I just don't see where he made a mistake...I could be wrong, I just don't see it.

Play that BEST defines Roy?

When he knocked L. Coles out silly on Monday Night Football and got up like a mad man while Coles was layin on the ground moaning like a baby.

Me, I wouldn't call Coles a baby. He's got to be one of the toughest players in the league.

Pretty clear that if he had better awareness he would have gone down when the guy that Flo (Harrison) is blocking had him. There was nowhere to go but backwards at that point.

You can even hear the announcers shout "give it up Marion"

Again, the play as a whole was amazing but, as BP used to say "sometimes give up is a good play"

How about everytime he kept backing up and backing up, till he found himself in the endzone?

Rewatch the replay and show me where Marion Barber when backwards other than when he was being knocked backwards.

He was handed the ball at the 5, it does look like he tried to side step the initial guy which I guess could be labeled a mistake, but IMO that is very nit picky.

From that point I don't see where he took a step backwards. He got hit and knocked backwards and stumbles among other things, but I just don't see this cavalier attitude of running backwards trying to make something out of nothing that you are suggesting.

I do think you can make an argument that when he got the ball at the 5 he should have "Julius Jonesed" it, but that is very debatable.

At the five a player would probably assume he is not in danger of being tackled for a five yard loss because refs take into account ones forward momentum.

So to me his decision making at the 5 is not faulty, but as luck would have it he got knocked backwards instead of being tackled, stumbled backwards, recovered got hit again and knocked into the endzone.

I'm sorry but the Barber run against NE was great. People have said Romo's run against the Rams was great, but he made the mistake of not simply falling on the ball. What's the difference?

I'm with you on that. My fav was the game winner in Carolina week 16. Kept us in the playoff hunt. That was some pretty sideline foot-work.

that was the back

it's wierd that Roy has had some monster, monster plays for a S

some1 already mentioned the McNabb pick and run, the turn and catch was great athleticism

him destroying Shaun Alexander

picking off the Commanders his rookie year, and running it into the endzone

knocking the f out of Amani Toomer along the sideline, after Amani shoved him from behind

miss that

There is no difference. Romo should have fallen on the ball and Gurode shouldn't have snapped it over his head. That play, and the Barber run, show the tremendous talent of Romo and Barber, but neither play should define the team, because they both involve momentous bone headed f@ck ups on our part!!. :laugh2:

Thanks Lady. That's the play I was talking about. It sucks we might not get to see him play again.

Witten's 40 yard charge without his hat...pretty much defines the Cowboys for me. It was the difference between Pro-Bowl and All-Pro for him.

How about those false encroachment calls on Ware?

If the refs can't believe how freakishly quick Ware is, it just goes to show how unique Ware's talent is.

Witten's helmetless rumble. Already one of the greatest in Cowboy's history.

You're welcome and I do miss Glenn. I'm one of the few still hoping for a miracle (for both his knee and contract situation).
