Posted this yesterday and I fully anticipate it to go there in full in due course.

That would be absolutely amazing, and it's certainly quite possible. I guess all the prophecies by the little lollie pop kids in College Station about the Big12 crumbling just might have been a load of horse hocky.

Blow up the Big XII, and bring back an all-new Southwest Conference... include the major Texas and Oklahoma teams, maybe Arkansas...

I know I'm dreaming, but I could doodle up some terrific, regional conferences if they gave me half a chance... you could come up with a second conference of Texas and New Mexico teams, with teams like UTEP, New Mexico and New Mexico State...

Just think of what the teams would save on travel costs each year...

All these super football conferences are making it harder on the lesser sports. now the travel for those sports has to escalate so much more because of it. Yes, football is the breadwinner, I get that. However, what good is it to make a few extra million if you have to waste it on travel for all the other sports teams for your school?

Give me 128 D-1 schools. Give me 8 conferences, with 16 teams in each conference (2 divisions in each conference). Divide each conference geographically. Each team play 11 conference games. The winners of each division play for the Championship. Each conference champion then moves on to an 8 team playoff.

In this scenario, all the California schools are in the same conference, along with some other schools. All the Texas schools are in the same conference along with the Oklahoma schools, and maybe a few more. All the Florida schools are in the same conference. All the Louisiana schools are in the same conference.

BTW, you can still have your plethora of bowls. But the 7 playoff bowl sites are as follows: Alamo (San Antonio), Fiesta (AZ), Cotton (Arlington), Sugar (NO), Orange (Miami), Rose (SoCal), and Peach (Atl).

The playoffs begin the week after the Championships. Round 1, 4 games. The next weekend, Round 2, 2 games. Then you take 2 weeks off before the National Championship, like the NFL does with the SB. During those two weeks, we get bombarded by all the lesser bowls (about 28 games).

Just an update of what I have been hearing/reading/gathering...

It seems like for now it will just be FSU and Clemson. The Big 12 is ok with staying at 12 if they bring those two in at this time.

Now there are caveats to that. If ND agrees to join (Olympic sports now with agreement to join in football after NBC contract is over), they will bring another team in with ND to make it a 14 team league. There have been talks with ND. However I just don't trust ND as far as I can throw them.

As I have heard multiple times...Miami does NOT have the votes so it seems they are not an option at this time. Which I think is a smart move with all of the NCAA violations they have recently had and the scuttlebutt is that there will be more things to hit Miami so it may not be over with.

I have also just heard that GT does not have the votes. This is something new so I don't know if I really believe it until I hear it a little more from some different people.

Oh and I have heard that there will be a rep from FSU and Clemson at the next Big 12 meeting. By Rep I don't mean someone who is officially with either school...but someone who can represent them...if you catch my drift.
