We are either the most loyal fans in the world supporting this ownership despite how they operate our favorite franchise or the most gullible for still believing in them.
We (at least most of us, Imo) are the former.
Cowboys are the NFL team I follow. Will be until my dying day. Which will hopefully be after they hoist at least one more SB trophy. (Would like them to have the most trophies).
The only exception would be if there is clear evidence that the team has no intention of trying to win another. Which would involve hiring nobody coaches, never drafting anybody that's any good and refusing to pay any top players, etc. But I can't see any owner doing that, the revenue from the team would plummet, and you have to have lots of money to buy a team, no owner would "cut their own throat".
But are we really "the most loyal fans"? What about Jets fans? Have been to only 1 SB, and that was over 50 years ago. But they still have fans.
What about Eagles fans? 60 years between championships, but they also have/had fans. Lions haven't even won a single playoff game since before Dallas won their last SB. But they have fans.
I get it, we got used to championships every 12 years, on the average. Plus, huge numbers of playoff wins as well, lots of "winning" seasons to boot. But compared to some teams we're blessed. And winning SBs is hard, it takes many times not only good players and good coaching, but incredible luck as well.
So no, I don't see myself as gullible, nowhere is it written the Dallas Cowboys are due SB wins periodically just because we the fans think we deserve it. That's just part of being a fan, you take the good with the bad, we can gripe and b**** and moan and groan all we want, not going to make one bit of difference....
