Tomlin isn't getting fired. If he's "available" it's because he decided to part ways with the Steelers. He's still under contract for next season. That means that Pittsburgh would want (probably substantial) compensation for him.

As a personal comment, I'm friends with a lot of Steelers fans. To a person they have wanted him gone for several years now. They constantly mock his press conferences, can't stand the fact that he can't seem to win in the playoffs, don't like the fact that recently he's a winning coach but just barely. IMO, he's a solid coach but he's not going to win 12 games with the QB roster they have right now. Pickett was a bad draft choice and set the team back 2+ years.

Yes, good point on the compensation picks. While it has worked for teams in past, I would prefer Cowboys not trade first rounders for a Coach, especially when great ones like Belichick and Harbaugh are available.

Some of it is just chain reaction from other moves. This is going to be a record year for head coach openings and legends out of a job.

Another reason why I think Jerry should move fast. HC pools like this don't come around often.

Well that part I agree with if Jerry's even leaning towards making a move this would be the time this would be the year and I think fans would be OK with it even though I'm still on the fence I mean we're all emotional we're all doing knee jerk reactions cause it felt like a kick in the nuts and you know we're upset we're hurt a lot of us who follow this team are not common fans we spent a lot of our time talking about the Cowboys 365 days a year I thought it was gonna take me 3 days to come in here and talk about it but apparently I'm getting better at rebounding from these hard core losses.. I hope Jerry acts quick and I hope Dan Quinn takes a job really quick because that would take him out of the running that would make it already halfway there and maybe Jerry can make the move from Mike McCarthy but who I don't know I told you my top list if Bill Belichick and Harbaugh and vrabel just like everyone else is talking about it would be crazy if we can get two of those dudes one to be the head coach one to be the defensive coordinator or somebody out of this bunch can bring in a good staff...
