What to do about Lee?

It's been mentioned in a few posts previously, but reality comes to fruition next week when he's back. He's one of my favorite players, but LVE leads the league in tackles and Jaylon literally covered 15 yards to keep Kamara from scoring, saved us 7 points.

Where does he fit? Take over Wilson's spot on 3'rd or maybe rotate some with Jaylon? Tough decision. Thoughts?

For this year? Easy. You replace Wilson with Lee on Running Downs and let LVE and Jaylon run in the Nickel.

Next year? If he still wants to play, I keep him around even if he is "high priced". If he does not want to play, I make him a defensive coach. Can't lose his leadership and playmaking ability, even if it is a reduced role.

JMHO

Great question...I dont think you can take out Smith or LVE at this point....I would offer him a bunch of money to be our LB coach

LVE and Jaylon obviously have to stay on the field. Lee is a valuable backup and can help coach our young stud linebackers.

I say leave him out. He’ll probably get hurt again. The D has perfect chemistry at the moment. Why screw that up?

Do some shuffling and get all 3 on the field when the package calls for it. Playing less and only in certain situations should help him stay healthy. They are going to need his cap dollars so it’s a pay cut, become a coach, or move on as soon as this offseason.

Let him ride the pine. If we pull LVE it would be idiotic. Let him smoke cigarettes on the sideline u tol he is needed.

He'll rotate in from time to time and provide good depth. I think they need to showcase him a bit and then see what they can get for him next off-season.

It's hard to justfiy his salary if he's going to ride the bench.

LVE is insanely talented but Sean Lee is still an All Pro when healthy. Damien Wilson is going to leave as a FA after this year anyway, I would play LVE at Sam and keep Sean Lee at Will as long as he is healthy.

this was first game where I felt Lee on field doesn't make dallas better team because this was Jaylon best game of year and wolf hunter was doing wolf hunter things.

It’s 55 and 54’s world.

50 is now there to ensure they don’t get too tired.

Maybe a series for each a half until he blows a hammy again

You still play Lee (Obviously), but you put him on a snap count. I'm sure they'll have certain sub packages in mind that utilize both Lee and LVE.

Replace Wilson in 3 LB formations...

Backup who only plays a few snaps a game. The SAM LB isn't flashy and does most of the dirty work so don't want to waste LVE at that position. I don't think Lee is suited for that position anyway

He'd be an excellent back up and mentor. I hope he gets healthy enough to contribute.

Is Wilson useful at any point out there? I don't believe so. Then the question is already answered.

Believe it or not, Lee is one of the best ever when healthy.

That said, what a great discussion this is. Remember the last few years when Lee was out?

Have him take over for Wilson period. Create the best LB tandem in the league's history.

Play him and then trade him

They no longer have twelve round drafts. No one will give up a player, and you can't offer an 8th rounder or above because he has weak hammies.

You play him until he has to retire. Pick your spots.

In a game where you play 70 defensive snaps I think a breakdown something like:
Jaylon: 55-60
LVE: 55-60
Lee: 40-50 (Jaylon some SAM)
