It starts with accountability with this team. The lack of it. One of the first things that I learned when I joined the Navy in 1989 was accountability. If you make a mistake, don't make excuses. Admit your mistake and learn from it. It'll always be worse for you if you are not accountable. Look at our beloved Cowboys tonight. No accountability, from owner on down.
If Wade is going to remain the coach, and it looks like he will be right now, here are some things he might want to consider.
The poorest performing parts of the team are special teams, offensive line, and quarterback play. Fire those coaches tomorrow. What the hell did Wade Wilson ever do as a quarterback in the NFL? Be a backup. That's about it. When your quarterback makes consistent piss poor decisions with the football and gives the "Oh well" look on the sideline, with his lack of leadership and accountability, that starts with coaching. Romo is the real deal in my mind, but without someone on the sideline to rip him a new one when he screws up, how can he ever be what he can be? Romo needs to find that quarterback list that Bill Parcells gave him and start studying it.
As far as the offensive line goes, I thought that Hudson Houck would improve this line from a season ago. He has clearly failed in that regard. Flozell still commits stupid penalties, Gurode can't snap the ball still, and we clearly don't have any candidates to push either of them. Pre-Parcells, I thought we actually did a good job drafting lineman. I remember we used to mine out good tackles in the 2nd round for years. Clearly we have no one on the bench to replace anybody in the starting lineup. Who would have thought Kyle Kosier was the glue that held it all together. We have to cut Proctor, McQuistan, Berger and draft the best lineman available. There has to be someone that can push Flozell Adams out there. We have to find him.
And special teams, not very special. All year long, I saw guys on special teams that did not want to make tackles. Everyone looking around for someone else to make a play. Adam Jones, who I thought would at least upgrade the return game, played so bad that when he did manage to make someone miss, either fumbled the ball or caused someone to block in the back. Bruce Read should have been left in Philly.
