What to do with Bohanna and Gallimore?

As we have it now it's Hankins, OSA, Smith, Chauncey that are the locks to make the team at DT

Should bohanna and Gallimore be thinking their days are numbered?? Please give your thoughts

It depends on active and practice squad depth at the position. Both are quality players even after upgrading defensive tackle with Smith. You want good rotation even if it is not with an ideal 1-technique also.

Let them battle it out in camp, but even so they both may need an injury to make the team at this point. I have to believe Hankins, Mazi, Osa are locks. Golston should be pretty secure as well. I don't see the Cowboys keeping more than 5 DTs on the roster.

My guess it they'd keep Bohanna over Gallimore. Bohanna I think at least flashed at times last year. Down side is that he is a 1T only. Gallimore has more position flex, but really hasn't been good anywhere you put him. He can occasionally be a presence in the pass game, but the Cowboys have a long list of players who can do that from the 3T. Gallimore has been an absolute disaster in the run game.

I don't think the pick impacts Gallimore's position; I'd say he's more in competition with Odighizuwa & Golston.
Bohanna may lose his job, but it's certainly possible he performs well enough in camp that they elect to go younger instead of keeping Hankins.

If Bohanna was everything they’d hoped for, they’re likely not drafting Smith and signing Hankins. That leads me to believe that he’s not long for this team.

This is where I'll be paying close attention to how many reps Mazi gets at 3T in camp. If they view him as someone with position flex to play multiple alignments on the DL he can basically take over the Gallimore role. If not and he is strictly a 1T it would be hard to justify keeping 3 1T only types on the roster.

2. Bohanna and Gallimore need to step up. You aren't guaranteed roster spots. Especially when you were #22 in the league against the rush.

Gallimore is fighting for a roster spot at this point. Remember Bohanna was nothing special last year but won a starting spot over Gallimore. So I think only one of those guys make the team with Smith, Hankins and Odighizuwa the top three and Chauncey Golston likely to see DT snaps on 3rd downs.

Osa has actually been a pleasant surprise. That dude is in the backfield just as much as Micah.

Total yards is a pretty meaningless metric.

They were T-15 in ypc, same as the Chiefs and ahead of the Eagles, and 4th in rush EPA.

Sorry but Gallimore is not quality. He is a top reason why our run defense sucked.

I'm done with Gallimore. I've been a fan of his, but at this point, he's got nothing except some flash plays 2 years ago. I'm fine cutting him.

Bohanna is also pretty JAGish, but he's a year behind the learning curve vs Gallimore. This is probably his last chance to show something.

Same here. I've been the ultimate Gallimore apologist, but it seems he's actually gotten worse. He just can't read and react to a block. If he were smaller/quicker he could be a true gap shooter type, but we have better pass rush options at 3T and he's become a liability in the run game.

Bohanna I still haven't lost faith in, but you're right time is running out. The guy has to show something in camp this year or he becomes an easy candidate to get cut without injuries to Hankins/Mazi.
