What to do with DaRon Bland?

Wait to see how he plays after the injury this season then decide to sign him or not next season.
This is the only answer I dont like. Extend him now or move on for a draft pick. Waiting a year just gets more expensive and gets 31 other teams involved. You got 7 games of tape on him after the injury this year...no reason they cant make a decision on Bland.

I don't like extending injured players - Gallup and Steele come to mind.

Anybody else starting to panic a little about cornerback?
We are pretty light, but if the do beef up the front 4 they can get good value with a vet.

Extending Bland off of a down year isnt a bad play. His market might not be as high as it would be if he played like 2023. Its a risk because he may have just been a system player all along. But if he can play top 15 CB, you could have a nice team friendly deal

They should extend him asap. Waiting only cost more. And God forbid if he gets hurt next year, then the Cowboys are stuck paying him after he is injured. A habit they need to break.
- Get him fully heathy
- Get him an idea DC and scheme that best maximizes his skill set

- Under Zimmer, INTs were not as high priority and Zimm was conservative in that keep receivers in front of defender, then make the tackle as receiver
gets the ball...while Quinn's scheme had CBs jump passing lanes and out-bullying WRs for the INTs ... that's Bland's game.

How will be new DC Matt Eberflus scheme help ..or hurt Bland ?

Historically Eberflus has been a lot closer to Zimmer than DQ. A lot of deeper zones with win your matchups up front approach. His defenses have been fairly good, but certainly more vanilla than most of the league.

People are more motivated before the big bag. Human nature.

Bland is a must-keep. Get him signed.

Then dump Diggs, go with a decent FA or 3rd round-ish pick, and focus on the front seven.
Diggs makes too many business decisions when it comes to making tackles ,Dallas can't afford to keep a non tackling CB.Sign Bland now and draft one and bring in a free agent ,Dallas is thin at corner back.As far as the front seven goes I like Kenneth Grant and Shemar Stewart in the 1st .
