What to do with Gallup?

He’s invisible out there. Tolbert has clearly passed him on the depth chart. And he doesn’t play special teams. Once Cooks is healthy I would seriously think about benching him. Not getting any separation. Ever. Way overpaid. The “injury” discount caught cap boy again. I’ll be shocked if he’s on the team a year from now.
How about throw him the ball?

2 catches for 13 yards for the season. Caught one for three today without Cooks on the field
Texas coast offense is quick throws by Dak. Often is 1st and maybe 2nd read and ball is out. We need to know how many times Gallup was the primary read first before coming to conclusions.

How is he supposed to do with that with the game plan the Cowboys ran on Sunday?

I swear people keep talking and talking about how Gallup did nothing on Sunday and completely ignore the offensive game plan.
He’s involved in the game plan and he’s only had two catches for 13 yards in the first two games. Brandin Cooks was out on Sunday and Gallup was still practically a no-show. Was the game plan not to get him involved in week one as well? Lol Jalen Tolbert has had better production than Gallup. He’s going to end up overtaking Gallup if this continues.

Gallup had a catch at 10:13. He's going to be fine. Same for Tolbert. They didn't put up bit stats. But they their contributions helped keep momentum going at key moments.

Gallup is not an underneath route guy. Week 1 was a toss away given the weather. Today the Jets have a good defense and it was clear the game plan was to get the ball out quick. That is not going to suit Gallup. He will make plays that I am sure.
Too many ignore this fact. A quick Jets d-line had to be accounted for. There were more than a few times when Dak "just" got the ball away before suffering something negative. You have to have time to reach 2nd, 3rd and fourth options. A quick d-line won't always allow it. It wasn't always ideal with these quick throws but it in the end it was highly effective. Prescott is #1 in QBR and if he can stay in the top 5 (#4 in 2019) the Cowboy offense should be in good standing for the entire year. Moreover, the long 12 - 14 play drives will wear the F out of an opposing defense...like what happened with the 90s teams. You saw this late in the third quarter Sunday...as the Jets defense was visibly slower than it had been in the first half.

Exactly right.

So...what happens next week when CeeDee is double teamed, and held to 2 catches for 15 yards. And Gallup goes 8 for 125 and 2 TD's?

Will we get...DO NOT EXTEND LAMB ... threads?
Hey, you’re messing with the Zone Madden football strats.

I mean, we should make massive trades every week based on our next opponent.

I’m sure there are teams our out there ready to help us out.

Such a pointless contract extension. Hated it then, hated it now. We traded Cooper for nothing and bet on Gallup returning to what he used to be. But not even close.

Gqllup is the #3 guy. He will have his days but like it or not the ball is going to CeeDee most of the time. If some team figures out how to stop CeeDee then watch Gallup have a better day.

Go watch that game. When Lamb gets open, which is the majority of the time, Dak lets it rip. So, I blame Cee Dee Lamb. Only so many balls to go around, and you don't need to pass to Gallup when the first read is Lamb. Guy went for 11 catches 143 yards. So there's that.

I've said 20x already this year that Gallup is DONE, and took quite a bit of mess over it....I am 100% correct on this....I studied him intently 10-15x today, and he simply could NOT get off the line and get ANY separation. So give him another camp NEXT season to regain his legs...come on....some of you just do not know when to cut bait. He is a LIABILITY....when the smart teams take away Lamb, Dak will be SOL.
Gallup's strong suit is the contested catch and working the sidelines. But his inability to get separation was always going to work against him in a West Coast style offense. I don't think his past injury is the issue here. Gallup would be a better fit in Kellen Moore's Chargers offense.

MG will be fine. Dallas hasn't needed to utilize his best attributes yet. When MG starts dropping the ball or running bad routes, then we can talk about this. As for now, Dallas has been very efficient on O without the use of MG. He'll have his day where he makes that insane toe-tap catch in the end zone or where he jumps off the ground and attacks the ball at the high point and comes down with it.
Just keep telling yourself that…he hasn’t been “fine” for 21 games now.
