What to watch for tomorrow?

Specifically, whether we win or not, tell me what to watch for tomorrow from Dak that will give me an indication of his future as our QB.

The moment we drafted him, I was truly excited. I saw a guy who made everyone around him better. I saw a guy in college who never looked like the game was too big for him.

And then...I logged onto here and read time and again that he was a career back-up at best. You guys crushed me.

Win, lose or draw, what are the things I should look for? I am obviously not a scout of any sort. I don't watch film. I never played. I've personally placed a ton of value on poise and intelligence. As long as there was enough physical talent, poise and intelligence would carry the day. Dak displayed all of those in college, but fell to the 4th round.

Am I to watch for specific plays? Particular throws? Something in the huddle? What will you be watching for?

If you see him hitting screens right behind a blitz, you will know he is reading the defenses well. That is what I want to know, if he is capable of reading disguised blitzes and coverages. If he can do that, he is light years ahead of anyone else we could have drafted. Even if he doesnt in this game, it doesnt mean he isnt. Its his first game as a pro. I will not be making up my mind one way or the other based on it.

The Dallas defensive line, if they don't get pressure on Manning, it's going to be a long game!

I doubt they're going to put this game on Dak's back...conservative game plan, heavy run game, dink and dunk to backs and Witten

How the game plan progresses. Get some high percentage plays to allow him and Zeke to both have some success, even in small doses. Then build up. Get their confidence up.
They will be confident, but this is the NFL and they are rookies. Though both played in the national spotlights before. Especially Zeke.

But start small, build up, and finish the game with a bang.

Mistakes or miscues are gonna happen how he responds is key. If he has a bad play let it go and move on don't let it snowball. I honestly don't think he will have that problem. If something is not there don't force it, take what they give you and when it is time to take your shots take em.

Try to keep us in manageable downs a distances, don't be afraid to throw the ball away and move on to the next play.

Poise. Quick release. Can throw on a rope and with touch, very convincing sell in play action, pocket presence and awareness, exceptional vision - finds lanes and can gash defenses, even take it to the house, strong arm, often throws to point furthest from the nearest defender in the receivers receiving circle, giving only him a shot at the ball, hits his receiver in stride allowing run after the catch, will hang in the pocket and take a hit, to deliver a strike down field, commands the huddle and handles presnap competently, relentless in his attack of defenses for four quarters, does not let up, to name a few...
