I don't really know too much about the guy but he was with the Cowboys when they were winning superbowls in the 90's and he was with Wade Phillips recently .

I want to get yall point of view of how Cowboys could benefit with him coaching the offensive line.

He is a very good Oline coach. He has had success with big physical lineman like Dallas currently has and hopefully the guys will respond to him.

 Don't you feel that this is contradictory with Kyle Kosier on the offensive line who is just as physical as a poodle trying to fight a lion.

I think Kosier is a good lineman as has been said many times you can't have all pros at every single position. Kosier has done a decent job having said that if one of the younger guys can show themselves as the better player and beat him out then great if not then Kyle keeps his starting job.

Man how people get confused listening to other people spew garbage on this site.

Koiser has been a good player for the Cowboys. If you truly believe he sucks, maybe you should look around at the other 31 teams and see what a few of them are playing with.

I believe if you go back and look at the tape you will see how he and Flozell contributed to the lack of time Romo had in the pocket.

In my opinion, I believe Flozell Adams should be the starting left guard and the Cowboys should sign Max Starks.

First thing I'd like to know is Houck's evaluation of Flozel Adams play and how much time has has left. Frankly I don't want to see the Cowboys sign Adams for more then a 3 year contract. On the other hand I'd also like to know what Houck thinks of Doug Free as Adams successor this season vs one more year. The most important thing is to protect Tony Romo's blindside, but if we re-sign Adams and give TO an extension, I doubt we will have the cap money to sign a FA WR. Now Henderson of the Saints is available so would be interesting to see if Cowboys bring him in for a look.

BTW: Understand FA this year will be begin in very late Feb.

One reason I think Hudson is going to be a nice fit is that he wont be interviewing for positions with other teams during the playoffs. Houck has a proven track record. He'll do well here again.

As for Kosier - I'm of the firm belief that the guys you sign as high priced free agents should perform much better than a "decent job." I leave that grade for the undrafted free agents and practice squad guys. If I'm paying millions of dollars for a free agent, he better play exceptionally well.

What can I say FA gets paid decent money and in Kosier case he is not so called high price compared to other FA. If someone can beat Kyle out great I'm all for competition and may the best man win but until someone can stand up and take the job then it is Kosier to lose. Dallas is not going to put All Pros at every single position there is just no way of doing that without doing serious long term damage to the cap and I for 1 am not interested in a 1 year deal where the Cowboys win a SB and fall flat for several more because we screwed ourselves with the cap.

After watching the Cardinals with Russ Grimm, I realize a brilliant offensive line coach can't fix anything without talent. For the teams OL to improve, they are going to have to do a better job drafting players and acquiring guys in free agency. We improved the OL last season but it still needs to improve particularly in regards to the tackle position. Now that the final vestiges of Parcells has left this team, I wonder how Garrett and Houck will approach lineman in the draft and free agency. It's going to be interesting.

The addition of Houck is huge. Among many reasons, one thing stands out. Jason Garrett's offense is predicated on the same philosophy that Hudson has been coaching his OL for. Dallas O-line has lacked continuity for years.

There is a reason our run blocking sucked, and our OL 'excelled' in pass blocking. The only reason it looked good this year was because of the pocket presence of Tony Romo.

the big question is can he help the line recognize and pick up blitzes. i thought it was solved when dallas beat the giants/eagles. but then the 2nd eagles game and 3rd giants they got confused. other question on run blocking, can he get guys to sustain blocks.
