What was Jeff Fisher doing? (Tenn-Mia)

It's 24-24 and the Titans have backed the Dolphins up on their own 2 with 0:59 left on the clock. The Dolphins run the ball out for a few yards and Tennesee, who has all three time outs, doesn't stop the clock! They just let the Fins run one more play and go to overtime.

Can anyone explain why he wouldn't try to stop them and at least give his punt returner a chance catching one from his own 50 or so to get into FG range? Even the announcers couldn't figure it out.

1 minute left, tie game, Miami has the ball at their own 2 yard line and Fisher holds all 3 of his timeouts and lets Miami run out the clock to force overtime. WTH?

Because he knew Griffin was going to pick off Henne in OT.

The guy is an idiot. It's readily apparent any time he gets in front of a microphone.

I just started the same thread, in the correct zone though.:laugh1: Looks like it's going to work out for Fisher.

Even though it worked out, what do you think he was thinking at the time? I can't figure it out. Like Enberg said, if nothing else, make them run two more plays and take the chance of a fumble or something. What if Ginn takes the KO back to the house?

I just can't understand his reasoning.

to me it was about as dumb as it could be, but I just coach here at the zone.

This is the same guy who kept Vince on the bench till they were 0-6...and would have left him there if Adams hadn't opened his mouth.

Chicago needs to come back and win their game against Baltimore. That way there will be like a 5-6 team log jam at 7-7. It will definitely increase Tennessee's odds to make the playoffs.
