What was wrong with Romo before the thumb?

Started 0-6 and had some terrible throws, and even some bad reads. I am more worried about his pre-injury play than the post. Was he hurt before the game started? Has anyone heard why he was playing so bad? :star:

you're not going to hear about it unless his season ends. he hurt his throwing hand a few weeks ago and clearly he wasn't right from the opening drive. if you can't grip or throw the ball it tends to make the rest of your game plummet (reads, jittery, etc.) he apparently RE-injured it with a hit to the thumb in the 3rd but his passing wasn't getting any worse. it seemed like Brad should have played. Of course with all of this info it makes Garret's Martz-meets-Reid imbicilic abandonment of the run that much worse. this week will tell alot, if he sits vs the skins he'd have almost 3 weeks healing.

I think he got hurt on the same play Gurode got hurt, which was in the 3rd Quarter.

He definately wasn't hurt coming into the game.

Well, I heard it was because Jessica Simpson was in the stands!

At least that's what I've read from some posters here...

Maybe this is totally false but it's a feeling I get. I think Tony Romo is as good as his preparation.

I feel like if he is well prepared for an opponent it improves his confidence, accuracy, decision making and everything else that causes him to be one of the best out there right now.

But also if he is not as focused or as well-prepared it shows from the 1st snap of the game.

I think the proof is in his play and how his results vary from feast or famine...

It IS all Jessica's fault! How could any red blooded American male focus on football around her. ;)

More than anything he was just off. I mean the miss to TO on the first series is just a bad pass. Romo has a tendancy to overthrow early anyway.

What causes you to be off one day - hard to tell!

Just off target. Everyone has these type of days but overall body of work by Romo has been excellent and I don't think that will change.

This is what Shango was saying in his angry video Sunday night, that Romo's head was not in the game. If so, well, he's only human. His dad has had some health issues and who knows what else is happening in his life. Whatever it is, I hope he prepares better this week and I hope this is a good lesson for him.

Good grief people...isn't it obvious? Have you seen Jessica Simpson? Have you NOT seen "Wierd Science" ??

If thats the case, that had better be the last time he lets that happen.

Jessica is getting way to much press out of this, I doubt he has dated her at all. Supposedly an article with pictures is coming out this week of him with a Dallas brunette that he has been seeing for a couple of months. I said before Jessica was not his guest at the game and the picture of them leaving was bought and paid for and you can be sure it was not Tony footing the bill. If Jessica was the reason, it was because he was mad that she was using him in such a blatant fashion.

For one Hurd dropped a ball he should have caught that helped him go 0-6

Tony over threw two deep balls that TO was open on

He has started games like that before and finished fine

Steve Dennis was saying Monday that even before the game, Tony wasn't acting like himself. He said that's the first time he'd ever seen Tony not laughing and joking and signing in the pregame warmup.

So something was bothering him, it seems like. I know that in the postgame PC, he looked like something the cat dragged in.

Who knows. Hopefully he didn't get some bad news about his dad.

Don't mean to sound gossipy, but now that you mention it, he was looking pretty straight faced and sullen very early in the game...

people keep mocking those who say this, but is it really all that impossible that there could be something to that idea?
