I've been following the Cowboys draft since '86 when we picked Mike Sherrard. Since then, my memorable drafts were Michael Irvin '88, Emmitt Smith '90, Russell Maryland '91, and Dez '10.

1988 -The Irvin draft was fun to follow b/c Sterling Sharpe and Tim Brown were the other WR's that were picked before him... Of course most people wanted the hometown guy Tim Brown.

1989 - Skipping Aikman, b/c we all knew Aikman was the pick, but Barry Sanders and Tony Mandarich were tempting. Yes, Tony back before we knew he was a bust.

1990 - The Emmitt draft was fun to follow. Jimmy wanted a LB (James Francis, Keith McCants), but when they saw Emmitt drop, we traded up to get him. I remember after the draft, (we picked up Paul Palmer in FA, and Joe Brodsky RB coach saying "Paul Palmer will make you lose your breath, Emmitt will do the same but, you won't get back your breath."

1991 - Now this was a trip. We traded up to get the #1 overall pick before the draft, b/c we wanted Rocket Ishmail. Then Rocket decides to sign with the CFL the day before the draft. I remember staying up late to follow this story. So we settled on drafting Russelll Maryland and also Alvin Harper with our 1st round picks.

2010 - The Dez draft was a fun draft, b/c of the "Stephen on the phone" thread on Cowboyszone. Getting a top 5 player with our pick was amazing and exciting. I remember posting that this was my most exciting draft to follow since the Emmitt draft.

2002 - honorable mention - Roy Williams draft. He did have a good rookie year :)

1998 - Hated it - like most, wanted Randy Moss.

2016 - Can't wait to see how this one turns out....

1964 is a no brainer: Mel Renfro, Bob Hayes and Roger Staubach. Three HOFers wont ever be topped.
