I'm not saying we are as bad as we look offensively after week 1. I do think it will get better.

But in no way can this team compete against Vikings, Rams, Eagles. If Atlanta, with their fire power cannot score on the Eagles, how can Dallas?

I went into this season with high hopes. Yes, even predicting 11-5 record. Couldn't believe the post saying .500 or under. I was wrong. We would be lucky to get to .500 this year.

Which brings me to E.T. There is no reason to trade a 2nd round pick for him. We need that pick and can sign him in the offseason. I was on board with bringing him in even for a 2nd. No more. I was wrong about that also.

I would rather trade that 2nd for offensive help. Maybe a starting center? WR? TE?

Dak. I don't know what to say. I lost all confidence in this guy. This is just sad. I really wanted him to work out. It does no good bashing him anymore. He has this season to prove us all wrong. I hope he does but it doesn't look good.

I hate looking so forward to a season and after 1 week you can see the writing on the wall.

You stole my next post, word for word.

It's early but I may have to agree with you.

It just feels like another dead end season with JG.

Surely though our offense can't be that bad. Surely Zeke Elliot gets going at home and we feel better going forward after this week.

Dak is not playing with confidence right now. And its because the coaches are demanding that he be something he is not. A pure pocket passer. The coaches refuse to scheme to Dak's strengths and try to get the most out of what he can do and what he is. Because that's not who they want to be.

Go back to 2016 and look at how Dak was playing. Its completely different. Not saying he's a great QB. Or even the future. He's probably not. But he is what he is and he's what we have right now.

Nate Newton said on the radio last night, "Just play football, Dak." And I thought, how can he? When the coaches have their scheme and demand he play in it their way?

Very disappointing.

Instead of being 11x5, we will be fortunate to make 5x11 this year. And, we might have to dump Dak just to make it that
far up the hill. Dak is running scared for the hills right now and has no confidence.

It is early, but the outlook is bleak if this kind of BS keeps happening. Just a total dumpster fire from the offense. It doesn't help to have a HC , OC, and FO who couldn't manage their way out of a wet paper bag with a stable of quality players. the Hazeman is right. We aren't going anywhere with JJ, SJ, and The Clapper.

I think we'd all feel better with a different coach with different answers.

I just have no confidence that JG will do anything that he hasn't done before.

Even if we turn this thing around and go 11-5 somehow I have no confidence in him to outcoach a team in the playoffs.

I always think about how he and Dak would get along and it just seems like the perfect match really.

Dak checks about every box that Parcells looks for.
Yup. Gotta have the right kind of guidance and development. Makes a huge difference. Your point above is accurate as well. When we have gotten to the playoffs, crunch time becomes out to lunch time.

So another thread metioning Dak's lackluster play, yet no mention of Zeke disappearing the 1st 3 quarters too. (Dak/Zeke showed up in the 4th)

What we know is JG is still a very bad coach, Dak is crap (one year wonder), and JJ is the worse GM in the NFL. The team is not very good and it will be another poor season 7-9, 8-8 that is the norm of the last 22 years. how far the cowboys have sunk since JG began believing he is a football genius. Every year it is the same bye line, this is a super bowl team. this is a great team, we have the players we need to make a run. The offense is offensive and the defense is mediocre at best.

Except it looks a lot like the offense from the second half of last season.
