What exactly did we learn about this team after todays game? I'm gonna say not much. Did anyone really think Weeden would come out and light it up? Did you think if the game was on the line he would lead a game winning drive? Well he didn't and he didn't. I expected that from him. Honestly I'm surprised he only threw one pick. I'm also surprised the defense did so well in the first half. Especially in containing Julio Jones. We went after Ryan early and I don't think the Falcons were expecting that. You could see that in the first couple of throws he made to Jones that were off target. We also were pleasantly surprised with Claiborne, again, in the first half. We know what Lee brings when he's on the field and we saw a shift in the defense when he left. Now let's look at what we learned or better yet confirmed.
1.The coaching staff does not trust Weeden at all. We probably could've plugged in a former quarterback from this board, or even uncle rico, and not missed a beat. It seemed like Weeden didn't even go through his progressions at all. He determined a receiver presnap and if that didn't pan out then it was a throw to Dunbar. That might have been the design of the gameplan and it worked for the first half but Atlanta caught on and adjusted accordingly.
2.Terrance is not a number one receiver. /end
Again we expected as much. I guess my point is we are a team playing without numerous starters and we did not do as bad as people are making it out to be. Stay with Weeden or start Matt? Please argue and please be more concise than I.
