What we're missing or going to be missing

I think we need a few more catalytic players on defense to push us over the edge. I don't know who you replace on the defense, or if you just hope players step up in their 2nd and 3rd years. Definitely hope we can get a young defensive tackle to be the heir after Ferguson is done, still think he has a few years in him though.

On offense I think we're set a center and right tackle. Wouldn't rely too strongly on proctor or mcquistan, so I still think we need to draft a guard and tackle next year fairly high. I think we might have something in Kosier too so I'd give him time.

And I know depth is very important, but if we're not going to start Al johnson, should we trade him and try to get more starting quality?

If romo is the real deal, we can probably sign a vet qb to back him up rather than draft someone.

We do need a young receiver soon though. We're going to have a serious drop off in talent if we don't.

Forgive me, but I'm a lil confused.

*Before* the Giants game you started a thread suggesting that "if we play to our potential we could go unbeaten the rest of the way" and now when we are finally looking a lil better you bring up what you think we're missing to get us over the edge.

Woulda made more sense to me if the 2 threads were flip-flopped.

Sorry to confuse you.

I still think now that the offense is unsealed we can certainly go unbeaten the rest of the year. Though it depends more on Romo playing smart.

In terms of being a great defense I don't think they're quite there yet. Still think they're good enough in tandem with this offense not to get beaten by anyone. And as I said I don't know if we need to make a change or if people just need to step up and play to potential.

The rest was just addressing what this team needs to stay at this level for an entire era.

All the defense is missing is people who can get consistent pressure on the qb, without blitzing.

On offense, I would like a replacement for Rivera.
