In no particular order:

-Struggled to replace Anthony Brown after he went down for the season. Joseph was a disaster, Wright wasn't much better. Team was forced to move Bland to the outside. Believe all 5 of his interceptions came in the slot.

-Just like on defense, team failed to replace Steele's production in the run game after he was lost for the season. Tyron just wasn't as good in that area and he lacked the cohesion playing next to Zach Martin. Both our backs struggled after Steele went down.

-Pass rush pretty much disappeared when Quinn adjusted his scheme to help the run defense. Took away all those twists/stunts that opened up huge running lanes.

-Run defense really struggled when both Lve and Hankins missed time late in the season.

-Dak led the league in interceptions forcing too many passes into tight coverages or not being on the same page with his receivers.

-Place kicker got the yips in the season finale and it carried over into the playoffs

What needs to be accomplished, in no particular order:

  • Need a starting caliber outside corner. Not only in case of injury, but you need as many capable corners as possible in this pass first league.
  • Must fix the run game, Steele returning will help, but still have to figure out left guard. Believe Tyron should be the swing tackle.
  • Just like corner, you can never have enough pass rushers in today's game. Sam Williams needs to take the next step this season
  • Cannot rely on either Lve/Hankins to hold up for the entire season, have to add quality depth to both areas. Could use post draft fa
  • Dak has never been a turnover machine, he needs better receiving talent then Noah Brown, post injury Gallup.
  • Clearly the team needs a new kicker, it's a shame as Maher was so good until the final game of the season.

They lost vs the 49ers due to struggles on offense.

Think fixing the offense should be the draft priority, add another legitimate receiving weapon, address the LG and find a quality #2 back.

Once Pollard was out, they were doomed.

Dak wins when the run offense and run defense are good. In the 2021 season playoff loss both of those failed. In the 2022 season playoff loss the run defense was good but the run offense failed.

Coaching was the biggest problem for the run offense. The team said that the Commodes DL moved too much before he snap in that last game. That's a coaching/scheme problem.

I think Philbin is good at coaching players individually but not good from a run blocking scheme perspective. Houck and Columbo had the same issue. Callahan was the master OL coach of both scheme and individual player coaching.

Sadly for Zeke, I think bargin contract RB Ronald Jones is an upgrade.

This draft has many good RBs.

My biggest concern is DT.
-Gallimore is terrible.
- Watkins was limited but very reliable.
- Hankins is an injury concern to me.
- Bohanna was actually good in some games but was toast when he played after the knee injury.
- Odighi was best when playing next to Hankins.

The QB

It starts and ends with him. If he was better, we’d probably be in the Super Bowl last year
Once again you show a remarkable lack of understanding about this team and football in general. Mahomes couldn't lead that offense in the 9ers game past a good college team with the holes in the WR's corps and no running game Dallas had on the field.

-Think Golston maybe now ahead of Gallimore, played well late in the season
-They need more depth at the 0 or 1 Tech, with Watkins departing. Robinson is still out there. Probably another day 3 NT coming.
-Almost any back taken will be an upgrade over Zeke, outside of his protection abilities.
-Let's hope Solari/Schott come up with a better rushing scheme.

Wouldn't be surprised if Roy is the 90th pick

Obviously the offense needed to score more than 12 points, that's a given. But everyone talks about the defense being tops but they gave up 19 points in the divisional round to the 49ers which were a lot more than the Eagles and Bengals with 7 and 10 points given up. The Chiefs gave up one more point to the Panthers with 20 but their offense is considered their strength with Patrick Mahomes at QB. In terms of having success in the playoffs I think both sides of the ball need work.

Pre snap AND post snap inability to pick up on multiple zone db coverages and the consistent accurate passing required to defeat them.

QB decision making in general. When to run when open field presented itself AND making throws after telegraphing/staring down targets.

Not processing the whole field.

Too slow in reads/progression, holds the ball too long. No timing.

That's a start.
All between the ears of the QB.

Simple answer to a basic question.
Q:"What's the most obvious reason why Dallas loses most of their games?
A: Dak Prescott decision making in real time.

Coaching change, play calling change and adding all the supporting talent ain't gonna change that.

Unfortunately, McCarthy will become the next victim.

What do you think of him? Is he more of a tweener who can play either Tackle spot? If they do take him he will be a target in that 3rd-4th rd picks.
I think he is a modern 1. Anchors well for his size and can add 10 pounds easily and play at 315. Type of 1T that can anchor as well as move with the LOS, which was a major problem without Bohanna

Would you say a less talented Benton?
